Aviogenex jet sold

Tuesday, May 5, 2015

The sale of Aviogenex’s last aircraft, a Boeing 737-200 jet, which will turn 28 years exactly a month from today, will begin at 13.00 CEST in Belgrade. The jet, valued at 203.600 euros, will be sold through a silent auction. The starting price will amount to 60% of the aircraft’s estimated value. If the auction is unsuccessful, a second round of bidding will take place, with the starting price to be set at no less than 30% of the estimated value of the aircraft. The highest bidder is required to make their payment immediately and will gain ownership of the jet instantly. Over its almost 28-year history, YU-ANP has served not only for Aviogenex but also for Malaysia Airlines, Air Zimbabwe, Air Bosna, Cameroon Airlines, Jat Airways and others. Only five other B737-200 were produced after YU-ANP. The sale of the aircraft will effectively mark the end of what was once the former Yugoslavia’s busiest charter airline.

UPDATE

The aircraft was sold today to Westair Benin. The jet was last operated by the Cotonou-based carrier during the 2013/14 winter season.

One of those times when your rational feelings get subdued by nostalgia. End of an era for a positive symbol of our common ex-YU past.

SRBIJA i ''SRB'' hoce dok bude Srbije i stanovnistva u njoj. U prvom ratu formirana Jugoslavija. U drugom devastirana. U gradjanskom ratu, zavrsila u paklu. Muzej za bivsu drzavu, za njenog diktatora, nazive avio kompanija, flote... Dolazi vreme i za ono ''YU''. Covek nemoze zaustaviti vrme.

Bas vala. Najvise volim kada stavove o Srbiji i zivotu i potrebama ovde iznose ljudi koji zive u inostranstvu. Izvolite, vi dodjite ovde i zivite, uzivajte u Srbiji. Ja sam ovde rodjen, u Jugoslaviji, srbin sam i ne volim Srbiju, er snsrbiju i unistavanje svega sto nije SRPSKO. Srbija je potpuno nebitna i mala. Ex-yu me zanima jer volim EX-yu, a Adria, Croatia, JAT i to sve su za mene domace aviokompanije.
