NEWS FLASH

Pula has become Croatia's second airport after Dubrovnik to handle the Boeing 787 Dreamliner on a regular basis with TUI Airways launching operations with the 345-seat wide-body jet yesterday with 329 passengers on board. As previously reported, the leisure carrier will utilise the aircraft type each Tuesday until the end of the summer season as part of its two weekly service from London Gatwick. The Boeing 757 will be used on Saturdays. Welcoming the aircraft, Pula Airport's General Manager, Svemir Radmilo, noted, "TUI constantly records an average cabin load factor on its flights to Pula of around 98% and this is the first time that an aircraft of this type has landed at our airport. Previously we have handled even larger jets, such as the Boeing 747, however this type features the latest technology and is of the latest generation which is quieter and lighter". Pula is no stranger to heavy jets, which primarily use the airport for training purposes. Just last week a Swiss International Air Lines Boeing 777 aircraft landed at Pula Airport as part of pilot certification testing procedures.

So we have Pula with 14 London flights throughout the summer, Trieste with daily London flight year round, and Rijeka with 2 weekly FR in July and August. That says enough about the competence of the people managing RJK.

It's nothing surprising that LX comes with Wide-bodies for pilot certification procedures... they already came with A333 and A343 aswell
