Adria Airways is satisfied with its operational results for the first half of the year and will focus on "restoring customer's confidence" over the upcoming winter following a number of operational issues this summer. In a statement, Adria's Chief Commercial Officer, Christian Schneider, said, "The first half of this year was good, and from a commercial point of view, the period was marked by a number of factors that influenced the entire aviation industry as well as individual airlines. The specific conditions and global dynamics required constant adjustments from our side, which sometimes resulted in unfulfilled expectations of our passengers. From the winter season moving forward, I expect more stability, and our dedication will be aimed at restoring our customer’s confidence and improving the quality of services".
During the first half of the year, Adria carried 577.233 passengers, an increase of 8.6% on 2017. The company also increased its number of operations by 2.4%, meaning it flew almost 10.000 flights during the first six months. The number of flights run under ACMI agreements grew substantially. The carrier operated more than 3.300 such services. In addition, the average cabin load factor on Adria's scheduled flights improved just under 2% compared to the same period last year and stood at 63.9%. The company increased its operating revenues by 17.7%. Adria's CEO, Holger Kowarsch, said, "During the first half of the year we took on many challenges and with the upcoming winter season when revenues are traditionally weaker, we will keep our focus on the long-term, sustainable growth of the company".
Meanwhile, Adria is said to be considering operations from Bern Airport following the bankruptcy of Swiss carrier SkyWork Airlines which ceased all operations this week. Adria intended on opening a base in the city last year with two Saab 2000 turboprop aircraft after Swiss authorities temporarily grounded SkyWork Airlines for a short period of time. However, it shelved such plans after the airline managed to retain its Air Operator's Certificate. The Slovenian airline planned on launching flights from Bern to Munich, Vienna, Berlin and Hamburg. Adria will open a base in Paderborn in Germany in late October by stationing a Saab in the city.

Everyone has published theirs. Croatia Airlines, Air Serbia, even Montenegro Airlines. Comeon Adria!
It's 2018. Accept this aviation reality and make it work if you can. If not, go pick strawberries or something...
Should the bankrupt SkyWork Saabs be bought, Adria will become the biggest regional airline in the Balkans.
Specific conditions, global dynamics, challenging environment, growing competition, constant adjustments... These sound fancier than what I wrote above of course :)
The same applies for the first 3 months of 2019.
LJU will have more flights to London and the new routes will be included in the statistics.
2 million will be easily achievable.
Prishtina and Tirana remain one of the most important markets.
They are launching 3 routes from Paderborn which has been announced.
SAS Scandinavian Airlines (SK, Copenhagen Kastrup) cancelled around 700 flights during the last three months, around 1% of all scheduled services, partially as a result of a pilots' shortage at its ACMI provider CityJet (WX, Dublin Int'l), the Irish Times has reported.
"We do not have a problem recruiting crews and have a steady flow of pilots joining the airline. However, in common with most regional airlines, we are also experiencing crews moving to other airlines to fly on larger aircraft, creating a temporary shortfall," a CityJet spokesperson said.

Paderborn is being launched because they probably got subsidies to fly routes out of there. Same as they used to in Lodz. But a warning to Paderborn - they pack up and leave afterwards.
"We would of course want the flying composition buffer of employees to be greater," he explained. "Work has been done here all the time in the name of this, but the company is growing slightly faster than we are able to recruit people."
According to Uibo, it is namely the 30-40 people currently undergoing training that the company lacks. The employees in training should be ready to enter service in a few months, however.
"All air carriers have workforce problems today," he said. "We are not alone in that sense, and many airlines unfortunately cancel flights for similar reasons."

All it takes for line maintenance is a certified engineer, a toolbox and a small parts storage for lubricants, tires and other consumables. And for heavy maintenance, you just ferry the aircraft to the maintenance facility.
LJU-SOF remains unchanged 3 weekly - service upgraded to CR9 during the month of September and a mix of CR7 and CR9 in October. I won't be surprised if they increase this route next year. S200 for the moment to be deployed in winter timetable.
LJU-GVA remains unchanged 3 weekly, now they have a code-share with LX on LJU-GVA route which is a smart move indeed to make connections via GVA.
LJU-HAM 3 weekly unchanged
LJU-DBV seasonal
LJU-BWK seasonal

with their PAD flights 60% would be the unlikely best case; they will be happy with anything close to 45%;
and if they finally come to Belp, they will not aim much higher than 45%... and it looks like that they are considering more such destinations with characteristics as PAD and BRN in the very near future (and they finally have its operations ready to do that without losing money)
Any numbers for adria routes?
Air Serbia posts their financial result once in a blue moon.
The biggest winner this year will be LJU. I an still hoping for two million."@
Unlikely, 1.8 million is current projection. Perhaps 1.85 million but this is like really if unexpected growth happens in remaining 4 months of the year.

This Canadian guy flying CDG-LJU made a very nice comment:
“Great service”

We had great experience with Adria airways. The flight and service was amazing. They waited for us as the plane was late from Paris. Also they made sure that we were comfortable with everything. Great suprise when the plane waited for our luggage as the time was only 10 min between flights due to delay from Paris. Thank you Adria Airways we will be back.

“Very detail-oriented”

This flight left 1 hour late, but the pilot explained that Zurich was experiencing high cross-winds which left some runways inoperable. They advised anyone who had connections to make to let the flight attendants know. Then they served chocolates. During the flight they also served snacks & drinks & chocolate again when we had to circle the airport for 20 minutes. The pilot announced that all passengers would make their connections & announced the gates for connecting flights for each passenger on our flight. When we landed I could feel the pilot fighting the heavy winds...but it was still a smoother landing than the Air Canada one in Toronto. In the shuttle from the plane to the building, the connecting flight information was shown on a screen. Delays are expected when traveling, but it's nice to know what's going on and what to expect and Adria handled all delays very efficiently and with a high level of guest service.
