As for easyJet, this is beyond phenomenal and it makes me so happy. Only goes to show the true potential of the Slovenian market.

Adria had to reduce frequencies on a number of destinations due to crew shortage.

Most Slovenians in July travel by car to the croatian coast and I guess fly a bit less.

Why bravo Slovenia? 0.4% growth compared to last july is not good at all. It's very very bad.

July growth was minimal just like ZAD. But the YTD is 11,8%
Also Cargo is +11% for JUL, which is not bad at all.

Disastrous numbers for LJU.

I agree with anon@11:24. Summer months are still reserved for Croatian coast where slovenians spend at least some part of their summer leave. July and august are not months for weekend city breaks, but we should not forget that JP probably does not rely on leasure travellers. Thats why there is another factor why growth slowed down in July (and I expect the same for august). I assume a big share of JP passengers are businessmen, traveling with JP for work. July and august are still months when business ties slow down, due to summer vacations throughout the EU, ergo there are less work related travellers.

This is encouraging. I hope ORY is next.

@ Anan 11:32: Flight increased by 9,1 % @ LJU which is quite a lot. Slovenes are certainly not the only ones to fly. If you are in ZAG during July and August, the city is empty, because most Croats are at the Coast. Still the incoming traffic increased, would assume that the seme counts for Slovenia too....

How strong is demand for far away beach destinations from Ljubljana?

ORY should work fine for U2. 3x per week but schedule should be better than the new one from SFX - 6am departures are gross.

Wow all are at 6?! Their BEG flights are much better.

one at 6.15am (fri), the other one at 7am (wed), just monday departure time is decent at 10:50am from SFX, which means additional hour to get to the airport from the city centre.

U2 has been obviously successful in Slovenia. I am pretty sure we might as well see a couple of other new routes. SXF might be a lower priced option compared to TXL.
Maybe Iberian peninsula is next? PMI?

Well, if u use the argument that most Slovenians use cars in July, how come 1 year ago there was a growth of 21% in July whereas now, only 0.4%

I don't see enough demand for anything else but barcelona out of slovenia. And even that would be too much for an a320, a 100 seater could work tho two times per week maybe.

I wish all the best to ex-yu airports but do you really believe that all of them really need that much new routes? All of them want to become hubs? I believe most ex-yu airports really need is good connections to established hubs such as ZRH, FRA, MUC, CDG, AMS and decent fares and not routes to every village across Europe, even LJU does not need 20 or so new routes but perhaps 2 or 3 to Barcelona, Rome and Glasgow with 100-seater 2-3 per week.
