British Airways to launch Ljubljana summer flights

British Airways will launch flights from London Heathrow Airport to Ljubljana next summer season, becoming the third carrier to link the two cities. Services to the Slovenian capital will run twice per week, each Monday and Friday, from July 15 to September 2. British Aireays' Director of Network and Alliances, Sean Doyle, said, “We are gearing up for an exciting summer next year as we add more routes to our extensive network. We’re always developing our leisure offering and are committed to giving our customers even more choice of destinations at competitively low prices”. A total of 239.727 passengers flew between Ljubljana and London last year, with 47% of those opting for easyJet's Stansted service, followed by Wizz Air's Luton flights and easyJet's Gatwick operations.

    Prestigious airline and real legacy, congratulations for the hard work and improvements acheived. It's time for BEG to try and persuade them to return because the rates are very expensive.
    Otherwise in LJU, Heathrow will the be the 4th London airport connected after Gatwick, Stansted and Luton.

      Prestigious airline? They now offer less legroom than Ryanair on short haul fleet and you have to pay for everything in economy on intra euro sectors.

      The business model has got nothing to do. It has a decent fleet and one of the best pilots in the world. Check the famous British Airways Flight 9 and you will realise how incredible this airline is. They also have A380, Dreamliners. T5 in London is modern and easy to use.

      If SKP fails to secure JFK flights with TK, then LJU has all the chances of IST-LJU-JFK.
      LJU can try and approach the long haul market and not Japanese charters only.

    I am not sure if the BA guy quoted in the text knows what he was talking about. LHR-LJU as a leisure route? Outgoing from LHR? I would primarily see business pax and VFR plus transfers via Heathrow hub!

    This is nothing..not even 2 months operation. BA may be considered as a "legacy" airline but their short haul flights are poor. Ryanair definitely has better leg room,, on board food and drink offer better and their cabin staff usually nicer. And Ryanair on time record is much better

      The BOB offering on BA is fairly decent in comparison to FR! The M&S sandwiches and rolls are superior to Ryanair’s cheese toastie and pizza. Price wise they’re both pretty much the same (the BOB not the fares)
      Also, BA’s crew does a good job, I fly them regularly and I’ve had a good experience with the crew on most occasions

    The departure and arrival times also seem fairly odd. Might cater to transfer pax to Asia and from the US in addition to BA’s ZAG service which departs earlier in the day

    British Airways is no better then Ryanair these days. Neither are any good and they are both expensive once all extras are added!
