Adria to boost winter network

Adria Airways will significantly boost its operations during the 2019/2020 winter season when compared to last year. The Slovenian carrier will maintain similar frequencies as to those operated during the 2017/18 winter, two years ago. Additional flights will run from Ljubljana to Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Paris, Prague, Pristina, Skopje, Sofia, Tirana, Vienna and Zurich. Adria will add the most new flights to the Danish and Albanian capitals, with an extra four rotations. As a result, the two routes will be maintained eight and eleven times per week respectively. An extra three weekly services will be added to Pristina and Skopje, both of which will operate ten times per week.

The Slovenian carrier will strengthen its presence in Vienna with two daily flights to operate during the winter, up from twelve weekly, while services to the French capital will also be boosted by an extra two weekly flights for a total of seven per week. Finally, Adria plans to add a weekly rotation to Sofia, for a total of five per week, while Frankfurt and Zurich will remain the airline’s most frequent routes, with 21 flights each, up one on last winter. The additional frequencies were enabled with the suspension of flights from Ljubljana to Moscow, Dusseldorf, Warsaw and Kiev last winter, as well as the closure of the carrier’s Paderborn base.

Commenting on future growth plans, Adria Airways' Managing Director, Sven Kukemelk, said in late May, "Today, Adria is clearly too small. In the long-run the airline must have forty to fifty aircraft in order to be sustainable. I wouldn't double my fleet within a two-year period, rather, it could be part of a ten-year plan. My goal now is to see the most sensible way to get this growth happening. Building a hub in Ljubljana is not easy - there are both pros and cons. Slovenia was and is the richest region in the former Yugoslavia, and there is already great demand for it in the area. We are in a relatively good position to connect the whole Balkans with Ljubljana".

We say we dont hate. But we do everything to put pessimistic commentary when we get even small chance. We love to spread rumors. We post wrong numbers and multiply bad numbers even when there is bad weather or other reasons. We will not tolerate any issue that an airline would have if it happens to adria. All because we love adria. There are some issues Adria could avoid but we hate to honestly separate them and be constructive. We love adria so much that we create very bad picture on it with our propaganda.

The aircraft is used as a scrapyard where they get "free" parts to keep the rest of their CRJ fleet flying without incuring too much cost.

      Legacy Star Alliance airline.

      Delete
    5. Anonymous13:42

i know that they don't own the engines. but depending on the lease agreement this kind of maintenance can be either at cost of the operator or at cost of the owner (leasing company). with situation a) adria doesn't have the cash to pay for such stuff, and in situation b) by own admission, the leasing companies are the biggest creditors, they sure as hell will not make their open positions (liability) towards adria any bigger, before adria does not close or makes smaller its debt to the leasing company. Let's not forget, adria's debt is matured, therefore any prolongation comes with conditions. One can quite possibly be that the lessor does not finance any services.

in such a situation you can make use of a plane as a spare part donor, but with consent of the lessor. Adria can't just take parts from a plane that is the ownership of someone else.

But as i've said it's a specualation, but i've heard quite a few airlines had developed problems with these engines by virtue of cracks in the core of the engine.

But with adria, whi knows what they are doing.
