Austrian confirms Zadar service launch

NEWS FLASH

Austrian Airlines has confirmed it will finally launch its much-delayed new seasonal service between Vienna and Zadar. Flights will launch on July 10 and run three times per week, each Monday, Thursday and Saturday (with exception to the first week of operations which will also include a Friday departure). The route will be maintained with an Embraer E195 jet. Services between the two cities were initially planned to commence on March 29 and operate on a daily basis with the Airbus A320 jet. The revised timetable can be viewed here. Moreover, Austrian Airlines is doubling its number of flights to Dubrovnik and Split to up to six rotations per week from July.

    Very happy for ZAD!
But OS must be joking when they sell an up to 6 weekly service to SPU and DBV as an immense upgrade. Those still are both downgrades compared to last years' summers (SPU was 1x daily and DBV 10 or 11x weekly).

Flew the fist flight to DBV and the flight was completely full. Maybe there is demand for 6 weekly?

I was on the first flight VIE DBV too and it was not full but maybe 80% occupied. That is why I am commenting. There is deffo more need than 6 weekly, once demand picks up.

Didn't Ryanair (Laudamotion) start yesterday, 29. June, the Vienna-Zadar route ?

Due to lower number of offered seats loads to the coast are extremely high. I was flying two times from Zagreb to Dubrovnik in June and all flights were full, operated by A319. So I am not surprised Austrian is doubling its flights to Dubrovnik and Split.

They are not doubling them compared to a normal summer. Still all reduced.
