NEWS FLASH
Eurowings has delayed the launch of its new service between Stuttgart and Belgrade. Flights were initially to commence on May 21 but were later moved to August and then September. The carrier has now scheduled the service for November 1 and has reduced frequencies to two per week. The route will mark Eurowings’ return to the Serbian market after several years. ReplyDeleteNo one as no other airlines have planned new flights to BEG. The good news is that they are just moved and not cancelled and that all these routes are year round. Perhaps you haven't noticed that there is a global pandemic and that global air travel hasn't even reached 20% of last year.

DeleteJU's main problem is that they lack a marketing strategy, all they do is promote their flights on social media and that's all. Never have I seen one billboard with their ad anywhere in the world, not even in Belgrade. Besides BEG they don't advertize at any airport.
DeleteThat's not true at all. They advertise often. In Belgrade they had ads on those electronic billboards right until corona struck. They also had trams fully branded as Air Serbia earlier this year. I don't know about other airports but there are Air Serbia ads at Zagreb and Ljubljana airports.

DeleteWhat an ineffective and disastrous marketing attempt, no wonder so many new routes failed this year. With so much money from the national budget they should at least do more.
DeleteBudget for marketing is not big and is divided into categories depending on which country is a priority. Trams had the ads for three weeks because they are not cheap. Air Serbia is in difficult position, one 733 left the fleet (YU-AND), two ATR leases were terminated and so were the two JP A319s. Hopefully better times come soon.

JU does serious digital marketing in Greece - you can see their ads on FB/IG offering connections. No wonder they had like 24 weekly flights compared to A3's five (last year).
DeleteDon't forget JU also had huge ads on Athens trams and Thessaloniki buses. I think they had such a campaign twice in Athens.

Road from FMM to Stuttgart is not the best, full of curves and takes a long time. LCC airport for Stuttgart is FKB. FMM is the alternative to MUC and it covered SZG until we got non-stop flights on Wizz Air. The only local airline that cares about the market.

DeleteEurowings is sill for launching this route, they should have launched NUE-BEG when they had the Q400. It's the perfect aircraft for such a market.
