Wizz handles close to one million passengers in Skopje

NEWS FLASH

Low cost carrier Wizz Air has welcomed just over 946.000 passengers on its flights to and from Skopje during the first three quarters of the year. As a result, the airline accounted for a notable 58.2% of all travellers passing through Skopje Airport during the January - September period. Basel. Memmingen, Dortmund and Cologne remain Wizz Air’s most popular routes from the Macedonian capital. The Macedonian government is planning to launch a tender to subsidise the introduction of new routes from the country with an adapted model compared to previous years, in an apparent attempt to diversify the country’s provision of airlines and destinations. Wizz Air has won all three previous tenders aimed at financing the launch of new routes and was the only carrier to apply. However, the Macedonian Minister for Transport and Communications, Blagoj Bočvarski, recently said, “The new model will aim to include as many airlines as possible and not be tied to just one”.

65% in 2019. I can't think of another European capital with such a high number.

Along with the new routes that Wizz will launch, they need to increase the flights on the routes to Italy, such as Treviso and Bologna, every time i fly to Treviso the plane is completly full. Not to mention that they will fly daily to Memmingen and Dortmund as of May.
