NEWS FLASH

The new refurbished ATU Duty Free store in partnership with TAV Airports and Heinemann has opened at Skopje Airport (pictured). The overhauled space in the departures area covers 326 square metres and offers new brands, including Armani, Prada, Buckley, Fossil, Tommy Hilfiger, Travel Blue accessories, Cartier, Narciso Rodriquez, Tom Ford and Tikiri Toys. ATU Duty Free CEO, Ersan Arcan, said, “We are happy to contribute to the development of North Macedonia’s civil aviation and tourism with our store investments and expanded operation in Skopje and Ohrid airports. Turkey and North Macedonia share deep-rooted historical, economic and cultural ties, and we are happy to build a bridge between the two countries in the field of aviation”. He added, “We have invested approximately one million Euros in North Macedonia so far. Since the start of our operations at Skopje and Ohrid airports in 2010, we have achieved significant growth in our duty free operations. In parallel with the expansion of our business, our contribution to employment has also increased. Our new main duty free store at Skopje Airport will continue to offer passengers a unique shopping experience with a wide range of products, including local products, along with world-renowned elite brands in 326 square meters area”. In addition to the revamped duty free store, ATU Duty Free operates a 32 square metre Macedonian wines shop at Skopje Airport and a fifty square metre duty free store at Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle Airport.

They are all the same and belong to two - three families. They are all but not duty free; i.e. pricing is far worst than in a normal store in town; they should be avoided in a large circle.

True, have stopped shopping in duty free many years ago. Ridiculously overpriced- this not only in SKP, but in general at every airport in Europe. The apex being of course the 3 Euro watter bottle.

Nothing says luxury like being squeezed in that middle seat with Tom Ford perfume radiating accross both aisles.

Hahahsh good one. I like the way he talks about historical and cultural because they expanded a retail store.
