NEWS FLASH
Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport has recorded both its busiest June and first half of the year on record. It welcomed 745.567 travellers last month, representing an increase of 37.6% on last year and up 23.8% on the pre-pandemic 2019. During the first half of the year, the airport handled 3.286.860 passengers, up 53.4% and 25.8% on 2022 and 2019 respectively. In a statement, airport operator VINCI said, "At the airport in Belgrade, traffic stabilised more than 20% above its 2019 level, buoyed by very strong demand for regional services (to and from Turkey, Eastern Europe and the Balkans). Traffic growth also diversified with new routes operated by Air Serbia (which added eight in May including several to Italy, Greece and Poland and one to Chicago) and Wizz Air".

Getting closer and closer guys!
TIA hit almost 3 millions till June.
DeleteWell done BEG!!! Congratulations!

One million in August!! Ok guys?!
ReplyDeleteHardly possible, but not impossible.
DeleteNot likely, but expecting new monthly passenger record in Ex Yu will be set this summer at Belgrade Airport.
DeleteBEG had about 717.000 pax last August. If we apply the same percentage growth (37.7%) from June to this August's numbers we get 982.000 pax.
DeleteSo if not for this year, than in 2024 we will for sure have a single month with more than a million pax
5th Wizz Airplane is coming, E195 should be here by end of July and, if I remember correctly one ATR is coming in August, so maybe the growth could be slightly bigger. They need 40% for 1 million...doesn't look that unrealistic.
DeleteWhere did you hear a 5th Wizz plane is coming? I don't think it will come (if it comes) before summer 2024.
DeleteTypo, I meant 4th. It's already here, but it wasn't in June's results
DeleteDoes somebody know Budapest, Bucharest and Athens numbers?
ReplyDeleteBUD had 1.338.000 in June but this was -9% compared to 2019. BEG reached for the first time ever 55.6% of BUD's numbers.
DeleteATH had 2,918,239 an 11.9% increase on 2019. OTP does not publish monthly data but is expected to be over 1,5 million.
DeleteAdmin publishes the numbers for all of them at the end of the month.
Deletehttps://www.exyuaviation.com/2023/06/former-yugoslav-airports-handle-over-96.html
It would be nice if they also published data for ATH and VIE.
DeleteWhat about TIA?
DeleteIn terms of flight numbers they're almost neck and neck with BUD.
DeleteFrom January till end of June they are 3 Million
Delete3 millions i meant TIA
DeleteTIA reached 3 million on the 6th of July, so I'd say they had around 2.85 million PAX for H1 2023.
DeleteGreat job Vinci and Air Serbia as the main driver with 52% of traffic. BEG had 2.1 times more passengers than the next best Ex Yu airport. More than double! BEG growth over 2019 is 23.8% where second best is only 3.1%. Huge difference.
ReplyDeleteDo you remember the person that wrote in the comments yesterday that Belgrade was hiding its results because it is bad? LOL.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha
DeleteI wonder in which hole he has hidden.
Probably went back to his clown house, locked the doors, and shut the blinds.
DeleteThis news is very traumatic for him.
Great results for BEG, the things are slowly coming to its place.
ReplyDeleteI hope we see Emirates soon, but they first look into potential to fill up business class, thats where we are still decent.
ReplyDeleteWith JU's upcoming China expansion (PVG and CAN as announced by Marek) and with Hainan going from 1 to 2 weekly I don't think there is going to be so much demand for EK.
DeleteMeanwhile there are clips that surfaced online yesterday of masses of luggage being left next to C1 gate at BEG. Vinci is extremely useless and I am happy they are paying JU penalties for this mess. Imagine leaving luggage out in the open at 40 degrees. What if people had creams, perfumes etc in their luggage? All destroyed by Vinci and their incompetent management.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile JU managers are on the ramp helping load planes. BEG managers are on their way home the moment clock ticks 16.00. Disgusting and horrible.
C1 was not used the whole day yesterday so it seems like it was turned into a luggage storage.
DeleteI actually just passed through BEG this morning. Lots of luggage still left out for someone to claim but not as bad as the videos on social media showed a couple days ago. It’s clear VINCI dropped the bag (hehe) here. I will say on a JU flight from Bucharest out of 55 people or so on the ATR72 only about 5 of us were not connecting passengers.
DeleteWhat are aircraft movements?
ReplyDeleteNumber of flights.
DeleteTerrible airport, never flying airserbia or transiting in Belgrade again. Luggage has been lost for 19 days now, basically ruining my holiday. No way to get in touch other than automated bot replies. Incompetent management over there. Get my luggage and pay me a refund, *******!!
ReplyDeleteWhich flight?
DeleteOn the good news side, if you have insurance you get compensated up to $1,000 for purchases made (clothes, underwear, razors) until your bags arrive.
DeleteAmazing growth Belgrade! Really hit the nerve of fanboys of incompetent airport in the neighborhood. Always a comment about lost baggage or some other issue every time positive news about JU or BEG are announced. Not a coincidence.
ReplyDeleteWow, nothing can escape your notice
DeleteBelgrade airport is in collapse every other day. There is not enough staff or technical capacity! Do you know there is only 4 carousels in BEG airport?!
ReplyDeleteFor those wishing more flights from BEG airport, plese book a flight with AirSerbia and "enjoy" the service.
There are 4 carousels because overhaul of arrivals area has started and they had to close carousels 5 and 6.
DeleteTake a chill pill AĆ
