NEWS FLASH

The Serbian Civil Aviation Directorate has lifted a cap on a maximum of three handling operators at the country’s airports in an attempt to ease delays at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport, which have been primarily blamed on a lack of handling staff. Handling companies interested in doing business in Serbia can now apply and must be certified by the Directorate. A total of six handling companies are certified to provide handling services at Belgrade Airport but only three were allowed to do so up until now. These were Belgrade Airport, SKY Partner and Air Serbia Ground Handling Services (which has outsourced its operations to Belgrade Airport). The other three handling companies that are already certified by the regulator are the United Kingdom’s Menzies Aviation, Greece’s Goldair Handling and Serbia’s Air Pink.

Swissport is in shambles... Now in the hands of yet another PE firm after Swissair's demise. Pump & dump like with all other former subsidiaries.

I heard that the problem is that staff had quit due to low salaries which was the problem.

BEG has never been this close to BUD.

BEG has 837 departures this week vs. 1011 at BUD.

    Countries served 42 vs 44.

    Keep it up.

Why did the flight from BUD have to fly to the south of Beograd and then back to BEG instead of just landing directly from the north?

Because the runway is in use from the southerly direction today.

Thursdays seem to be popular too. A friend was delayed on BEG-FCO for six hours this morning. I'm flying from MXP tonight and it's not looking good.

He is delayed because there is strike at Italian airports. Air Serbia has issued a statement that Italian flights may be delayed as a result

BEG is not on the Top10 list of delayed airport. Look at the catastrophy called London Gatwick LGW without any active weather, massive delays both inpound and outbound. Belgrade is really great compared to them!

I didn't realise strikes at Italian airports only impacted Air Serbia! Because all other airlines with landings this morning arrived within 60 minutes of their assigned slot. Only Air Serbia landed with a 5+ hour delay. I suppose the last-minute equipment swap from E190 to A320 was also due to the strike.

Try better next time before calling others out, keyboard warrior.

We flew BEG - FCO abt a month ago & the flight was delayed because the fuel truck was nowhere to be found. The gate staff had zero idea of what was happening & said it was a weather problem. BEG trying to give CDG a run for worst airport in Europe.
