NEWS FLASH

British Airways is upgrading its seasonal summer flights between London Heathrow and Ljubljana to year-round operations. As reported by EX-YU Aviation News back in June, the British flag carrier had secured slots to maintain services to the Slovenian capital throughout the winter, however, it reserved the right to modify these plans. It has now scheduled and put on sale flights to Ljubljana throughout the winter, with services to take place four times per week, on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, past October 29.

Peope were hysterical without a good reason when it came to LJU. You can see now that things are looking up and are actually improving as time goes by. More is to come.

      Skopje - Wizz Air
      Pristina - GP Aviation Services
Tirana - maybe here, but we already have from Trieste.

Where are those misunderstandings that keep saying that only Lufthansa flies to Ljubljana? We very clearly see new additions every month. Gp Aviation Services, Finnair, BA, Luxair, Red Sea, Wizz to Skopje....

What matter is that LJU is profiting from ZAG price hikes, seems like they managed to attract a whole bunch of new airlines. I think next summer there will be even more traffic. In 2024 LJU will have close to 1.6 million which isn't bad at all.

During this week in 2019 there were 19 flights between London and Ljubljana

2x weekly Heathrow - Ljubljana by British Airways
4x weekly Gatwick - Ljubljana by easyJet
9x weekly Stansted - Ljubljana by easyJet
4x weekly Luton - Ljubljana by Wizz Air

      And this year we have
6x weekly Heathrow - Ljubljana by British Airways
      6x weekly Gatwick - Ljubljana by easyJet2
2x weekly Luton - Ljubljana by Wizz Air

Still less, but would be interesting to compare capacity since Wizz is using mostly A321 instead of A320 in 2019 and Easy quite a lot of A320 instead of A319. Well, Stansted would definitely be more than welcome.

That tender was an absolute joke and must have been set up to fail in order to force through a new state airline.
