NEWS FLASH
British Airways is upgrading its seasonal summer flights between London Heathrow and Ljubljana to year-round operations. As reported by EX-YU Aviation News back in June, the British flag carrier had secured slots to maintain services to the Slovenian capital throughout the winter, however, it reserved the right to modify these plans. It has now scheduled and put on sale flights to Ljubljana throughout the winter, with services to take place four times per week, on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, past October 29.
How are the times looking? Good addition to Ljubljana
ReplyDeleteSo this winter for BA:
ReplyDeleteZAG 6
LJU 5
BEG 3
Im sure Ljubljana will be soon daily with BA.
DeleteJudging by the pricing (some one way tickets are selling for 400 +e in the winter) it will be daily sooner than later
DeleteAlso 2x weekly Wizz and 5x weekly Easyjet
DeleteGreat news for Ljubljana!
ReplyDeleteBravo Fraport!
ReplyDelete@admin maybe you could post the timetable as well?
ReplyDeletePeope were hysterical without a good reason when it came to LJU. You can see now that things are looking up and are actually improving as time goes by. More is to come.
ReplyDeletemy guy, we are missing connections to, iberia, scandinavia, baltics, central europe and balkan
DeleteWe'll get Riga next summer.
DeleteThose connections you are talking about and repeating all the time, @ 14:24, have always been more or less missing.
DeleteWe need to get only VIE, CPH and maybe BER, DUS, MAN.
DeleteWhat are the Balkans for if there is no point in Sarajevo or Tirana?
DeleteSkopje - Wizz Air
Pristina - GP Aviation Services
Tirana - maybe here, but we already have from Trieste.
I always wonder how they allow this Swiss airline to operate from the EU...
Delete( GP Aviation Switzerland)
Where are those misunderstandings that keep saying that only Lufthansa flies to Ljubljana? We very clearly see new additions every month. Gp Aviation Services, Finnair, BA, Luxair, Red Sea, Wizz to Skopje....
DeleteThey hide in their negative shell with nostalgia for communism....
DeleteWhat matter is that LJU is profiting from ZAG price hikes, seems like they managed to attract a whole bunch of new airlines. I think next summer there will be even more traffic. In 2024 LJU will have close to 1.6 million which isn't bad at all.
DeleteThis is great! Hope it happens.
DeleteConsidering that a new national carrier could happen somewhere in Q3 at best next year than maybe even more.
DeleteWith the results of the tenders, national carrier will have to go ahead
DeleteCan anyone tell me the total number of frequencies to London before the pandemic and now. I will be grateful. I want to compare if we have a full refund.
ReplyDeleteDuring this week in 2019 there were 19 flights between London and Ljubljana
Delete2x weekly Heathrow - Ljubljana by British Airways
4x weekly Gatwick - Ljubljana by easyJet
9x weekly Stansted - Ljubljana by easyJet
4x weekly Luton - Ljubljana by Wizz Air
Thank you Ex-Yu Aviation.
DeleteI didn't know there was a 9 week Stansted 😯
DeleteAnd this year we have
Delete6x weekly Heathrow - Ljubljana by British Airways
6x weekly Gatwick - Ljubljana by easyJet2
2x weekly Luton - Ljubljana by Wizz Air
Still less, but would be interesting to compare capacity since Wizz is using mostly A321 instead of A320 in 2019 and Easy quite a lot of A320 instead of A319. Well, Stansted would definitely be more than welcome.
Nice!
Delete95% of pre-covid levels
What is the number of british tourists in Slovenia ( average for 2019 or last year)?
ReplyDeleteI want Manchester
ReplyDeleteIt would be great addition but probably not happening soon
DeleteOh well as you will see in tomorrow’s news there was another great outcome from the subsidy tender…
ReplyDeleteThat tender was an absolute joke and must have been set up to fail in order to force through a new state airline.
DeleteWhy not the center of the Balkans, Skopje...BA are missing out...
ReplyDeleteBecause there is not enough demand for the center of the Balkans. You have Luton flights for now.
DeleteTerminal 5
ReplyDeleteYeeees so happy with this. As a regular commuter this is fantastic news.
