There was a time when BEG had more passengers than BUD.

Since the beginning of the year, literally every month, some "neighbors" worry about how Tirana will overtake Belgrade. At the same time, ignoring how their "prestigious" airport was literally overrun by both Belgrade and Tirana.

Uhmm, it's actually the other way round. In July, TIA had 67,049 less PAX than BEG, in August only 46,806 PAX less, so you can say every month TIA is closer to BEG. ;)

Actually it's only our neighbors that are constantly comparing BEG and TIA. Everyone else in Serbia is focused on BUD now that we overtook SOF and SKG. Actually the difference with SKG is quite big right now.

A lot of the growth in TIA is fueled because european tourists are switching from Croatia to Albania.

You informed that after July 2023 BEG had 4.188.703 pax https://www.exyuaviation.com/2023/08/belgrade-airport-registers-busiest-july.html

If we add August numbers (932.165) the final number Jan-Aug is
    4.188.703 + 932.165 = 5.120.868 and not 5.107.975

Not very close but getting closer.

      BUD: 9.615.000
      BEG: 5.107.000

However BUD was always some 60% ahead of BEG while now the difference was brought down to 53%. If this winter turns out to be good then BEG can bring it down to less than 50%.
