Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport has handled over 6.6 million passengers so far this year, surpassing its previous record set in 2019, when it handled 6.1 million travellers during the whole year. With two months to go until the year is up, the airport is expected to welcome over seven million passengers in 2023. During the first three quarters of the year, Belgrade Airport handled 5.951.755 passengers, an increase of 42.5% on last year and up 25.2% on the pre-pandemic 2019.
From 5.9 to 6.6 is some 700.000 passengers meaning Belgrade will have another month with growth over 20%.

ReplyDeleteyes it is achievable depending the total they finish with. if they finish with 7.5 million and if they maintain the grwoth rate of 25%.

Brussels is not realistic, BEG-BRU is very slim market.
Iberia could launch flights, but they do not see Europe east of Croatia.
Tunisair is possible as summer seasonal only, but we do have many charters to Tunis now.
More possible is SAS, AF again, TAP, ITA.
Finnair could do, they are desperat to fly anywhere to compensate ban in Russia.

DeleteIf traffic keeps on developing like this then soon enough (maybe as soon as next summer) there might be a problem with gates during the busy periods of the day. This summer it was already bad enough in the morning and around noon. I think almost all gates were used up.
DeleteIt's very dumb for Nis and its little traffic. It definitely should and could be more. This part of Serbia is forgotten. Of course, we should be satisfied with that too, because 10 years ago they was a disaster. A complete disaster!

Now, looking at the schedule, it seems that there are more flights (JU) compared to previous years.

DeleteSomething makes me think that in the future we will not see such an expansion of JU as now. Should they increase the frequency of flights but not add new destinations? Maybe they forgot about the hundred destinations? I hope I'm wrong! Fingers crossed for extension of expansions in 2024.

Of course they are not going to add 20 new routes each year. But they plan to add frequency. For example, they plan to add another daily flight to Paris, which is the equivalent of them launching three new routes (frequency wise)
When will we be able to see new routes and how many?
