NEWS FLASH
Luxembourg’s flag carrier Luxair has reduced operations on its flights between the Grand Duchy and Ljubljana over the coming winter season, which begins on October 27 and runs until March 30 of next year. The airline will suspend flights on the route between November 3 and December 19 after which services will operate twice per week until January 5. Operations will then be suspended again until February 16 when they will be restored twice per week. All flights will run with the 76-seat Dash 8 aircraft. Last winter season, Luxair maintained two weekly rotations between the two capitals throughout the season. Further changes remain possible.
Bravo Fraport!
ReplyDeleteAll hail our Lufthansa cartel overlords
DeleteDo you really think that such a small airport is of any importance to LH? Please. Far away from main centers of people. Connectivity very poor. The main problem is geography not Fraport. Look at Fraport at SKG. Booming airport.
DeleteSame could be said for Croatia Airlines. But there are a lot of conspiracy theorists here on this site.
DeleteIn other news from Ljubljana. Kompas had to cancel a few rotations, because White doesn't want to operate their flights, and KlasJet had another contract for their 737-500 from 1.7 on. They will now be paying DOUBLE premium from Saturday on for another KlasJet plane
ReplyDeleteA small mistake, KlasJet is back with us in LJU from on Friday, Thrusday rotations are canceled
DeleteI don’t understand Luxair. Only once I was able to buy connecting flight to LIS on eDreams. Their web page now offering LUX and LCY.
ReplyDeleteDo we know why they don’t sell connecting flights from LJU?
DeleteHow is this ok!?
ReplyDeleteThis is more than ok, it is amazing, for the owners of the airport.
DeleteCome on, stop with these nonsense comments... Why would the owners want less flights? Less flights = less money.
DeleteClearly they do since they are doing absolutely nothing to get more flights.
DeleteHow do you know that?
DeleteClearly you are blind or delusional or just do not know what is going on.
DeleteBecause the owners are happy as long as LJU is a Lufthansa Cartel airport
DeleteOh just grow up with your conspiracy theories...
DeleteIf this is conspiracy theory I do not want to hear any excuses about Croatia Airlines.
DeleteDidn't they get incentives for year round?
ReplyDeleteYes
DeleteIn summer they could quite literally fill 737s in November, January and February last year there were about 35pax for every rotation. If they used ATRs it would be a net zero, but with Dash 8 it's just not worth it
ReplyDeleteJudging how there is no new incentives tender published, it looks like Cyprus will take over routes, once they get those 2 additional A220, the one grounded will be back in service by mid this month
ReplyDeleteI hope you are right but I lowkey doubt it.
DeleteNothing but disappointing news for LJU lately.
ReplyDeleteBravo Fraport
DeleteAegean, British cancelled their winter ops, Luxair severely reduced them and Air France also took out 2 weekly flights
DeleteBravo Fraport!
How dare you say anything bad about Fraport! It is the best company in the world and LJU has absolutely zero demand. Again with the conspiracy theory.
DeleteIf all those airlines cancelled flights, it says more about non-existent demand rather than Fraport.
DeleteTrue only LJU has no demand compared to other airports.
DeleteIt just shows that there's no demand during those times. Would you operate your company at a loss when you can avoid doing that? I know I would as I'd not be in it to lose money, but to make money. Having a national company wouldn't fix anything. Demand would still be low, ticket prices would probably be even higher (as they were) and the only thing the airline would do is burn government money. I actually welcome this kind of decisions, because it shows that the companies who fly take measures to survive. That means that they can keep coming back and back and back, instead of in X years filing for insolvency due to flying empty planes in low season just because 3 people wanted to fly to LUX or via LUX at that time.
ReplyDeleteAmazing how demand just dissapears overnight.
DeleteWell said 15.42.. I subscribe it too.
DeleteIt didn't dissappear. LJU - LUX had had quite dissapointing load factors last winter so this year they decided not to risk it again. Summer season was great though, so I'm sure the line will survive long term.
DeleteSo London demand did in fact magically dissapeared overnight.
DeleteBefore covid Zagreb had no low cost London flights and now it has double daily Ryanair service.
DeleteAnd as I said LJU has absolutely zero demand to London as all 230k passengers per year were from Croatia. Even now there are no Slovenes at LJU.
DeletePerfect business sense. If I had a company that would end up loosing money doing something I would not do it. Why should LG fly half empty planes and loose money?
ReplyDeleteAegean, British, Air France, Luxair who’s next ?
ReplyDeleteEasyJet also has less flights. But LJU has absolutely zero demand to London.
DeleteAdria come back. All is forgiven!
ReplyDeleteNot a chance in hell I'm coming back to work for half the money I'm getting now and working twice as much. And according to some "experts", we were overpaid and underworked.
DeleteIt's very frustrating, people in this part of the world want the freedom and money associated with the west, yet cling to Communist mentality in loving loss making companies and believe in throwing money away on vanity projects. The real world functions on profit and loss and cutting services that do not yield a profit is what happens.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, Air Slovenia is scheduled to start flying in August with a single CRJ.
ReplyDeleteStop spreading lies.
Delete@09:08
DeleteWell, let's wait and see. ;) I don't know what it will be called, but it's surely coming.
Tell me then where u got this information
Delete@10:01 he cannot tell you becouse he made it up. I couldn’t find anything about it anywhere.
DeleteEven IF it's true (which im 99% sure it's not), not a single business model would allow for one aircraft ops to be profitable
DeleteExactly especially not CRJ
DeleteThe only viable option for that is if Cyprus decided it's better to open slo base with CRJ instead of A220, which could actually make sense
DeleteYou guys are just too funny. I got the info from the guys looking for cabin crew. And I'm not publicly sharing any names. Training starts in August, flying perhaps a bit later (don't have the info).
DeleteHard to believe, without any new company registered, website being up etc... not to mention AOC
DeleteAOC is Maltese
DeleteCRJ is not a profitable aircraft. It was for transfers to the balkans in Adria days and even then not really. A220 is much more viable.
ReplyDeleteAgree, BUT i do see them taking CRJ until they get more A220
