NEWS FLASH

Wizz Air has rolled out the WorldTracer Self Service platform across its entire network, allowing passengers to report lost baggage directly from their phones or online. The new system offers 24/7 accessibility, faster reporting immediately upon arrival and the ability to file reports from anywhere. Travellers will also benefit from improved transparency, with the option to track and manage baggage claims more easily. By removing the need to wait in queues or speak with an agent, Wizz Air says the tool gives passengers greater convenience and control over their travel experience. The airline noted that while baggage delays remain a frustrating part of air travel, the new platform is part of its “Customer First” strategy to make the reporting process smoother and more efficient. The platform can be accessed here.

Does Wizz really handle much luggage for it to be lost?

And given they don't do connecting flights, i really don't think there is a significant number of lost luggage from the already small number of checked in luggage.

Perhaps they are vastly more likely to lose even that. And anyway I feel like a decent amount of people still check luggage with them (for whatever reason)

    Smart move.
More airlines should add that feature.

I wouldn't celebrate just yet. I, of course, do not know how this system will work, but have extensive experience with many companies that have "removed the need to talk to an agent", just so that customers can be put in an endless, pointless loop with some sort of wizard/AI where nothing is solved. It all very much depends on the actual implementation, but not having an actual person to talk to, in my experience, significantly lowers the user experience (and cost for the service provider).

Yep. Thise chat-bots were a joke. None of them EVER solved any of my problems..now with AI it MAY get better...but I want to see it before I believe it.

Just place one airtag or an adroid smart tag in your luggage. It saves your nerves and of course shows where your luggage exactly is. That might also speed up the process of finding & delivering your lost luggage to you.

Nevertheless you will need to fill a claim if your luggage is not delivered on the belt....
So the direct access to the online claim is not a bad thing.
