Montenegro Airlines’ last F100 to become café

NEWS FLASH

The final Fokker 100 aircraft belonging to Montenegro Airlines, acquired earlier this year for 57.000 euros by a US businessman of Montenegrin descent, Bojan Dragaš, will become a café. The aircraft, which has been grounded at Podgorica Airport since Montenegro Airlines’ collapse in December 2020, has been stripped of its engines and key components. The idea for the Podgorica café is to preserve the authentic look of an aircraft cabin interior, while adapting it to modern hospitality standards, with airplane-style seating, mood lighting and décor. According to Mr Dragaš, the aim is for the venue to become a tourist attraction and a place for family gatherings, children’s birthday parties, themed dinners and photo opportunities. “It would be a shame for such a piece of history to be lost. Visitors will be able to come inside, sit down, have a meal and enjoy an atmosphere many may never have experienced in flight”, the aircraft owner explained. The aircraft was put on sale by Montenegro Airlines’ bankruptcy administrator.
