NEWS FLASH
Sarajevo Airport has appointed Amadeo Mandić (pictured) as its acting CEO after the former General Manager was barred by the court from performing his duties amid an ongoing investigation. Commenting on his priorities, Mr Mandić told the “Klix” portal, “Over the next three months, my primary focus will be on stabilising the corporate governance framework, consolidating internal processes and strengthening operational efficiency. Priority will be given to ensuring the continuity of all services and creating the conditions for uninterrupted operations during the winter season. The objective is to maintain stability and prepare the company for new plans and challenges in 2026”.
Mr Mandić previously served as the Director of the Federal Directorate of Civil Aviation (FEDCAD), the predecessor of today’s air navigation service provider, BHANSA. During his tenure, FEDCAD assumed responsibility for air traffic control from international peacekeeping forces that had been stationed at Sarajevo Airport during the war. He was appointed acting Executive Director for Traffic at Sarajevo Airport in December last year, having taken up the role from his position as Assistant Minister at the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Ministry of Transport and Communications. He is a member of the SDP party.
