NEWS FLASH
Passengers on sixteen flights either departing from or arriving in the former Yugoslav markets will usher in the New Year while airborne. While airlines traditionally rescheduled or cancelled services that coincided with New Year celebrations, this practice has become far less common in recent years. Nevertheless, several flights in the region have still been adjusted or cancelled to avoid the timing clash. The Lufthansa Group will not operate its late-evening services to several EX-YU capitals, while passengers travelling from Belgrade and Podgorica to Istanbul on Turkish Airlines are scheduled to land just minutes into 2026. An early arrival is highly likely, meaning travellers could see out 2025 on the tarmac rather than in the air.
A handful of flights will run throughout midnight. They include the following:
Departing Belgrade Airport
· China Southern Airlines to Guangzhou
· Air Serbia to Moscow
· Air Serbia to St Petersburg
· Turkish Airlines to Istanbul
· Flydubai to Dubai
Arriving at Belgrade Airport

DeleteBiggest airport has more flights. Who would've thought
DeleteWe see very clearly who respects its employees.
ReplyDeleteAirlines across the world operate normally during New Year. That includes Lufthansa and Austrian. The reason they cancel their ex-Yu flights is because most arrive just before midnight and there is likely little demand for travel that night.
