Air Serbia has taken delivery of its fifth Airbus A320 aircraft today. The jet, registered YU-APV (pictured), arrived from Lithuania this afternoon. The eighteen-year-old aircraft was previously operated by Aegean Airlines. Air Serbia is also expected to take delivery of a sixth A320 shortly. As previously reported by EX-YU Aviation News, it too was formerly operated by the Greek flag carrier. Commenting on the arrival, Air Serbia's CEO, Jiri Marek, said, “The development of our fleet and the introduction of additional aircraft are part of the company’s long-term growth plan. This allows us to further strengthen our operational capabilities and ensure a stable and reliable level of service for passengers, while continuously expanding our route network from Belgrade. Investments in the fleet enable us to maintain a strong market position in the region, while ensuring a high level of efficiency and comfort in our day-to-day operations. Another aircraft of the same type is expected to join the fleet in the coming period, which will further contribute to greater flexibility in flight planning".

A3 is a serious operator so it was probably well maintained.
Still in 2026 one would expect JU to go for newer frames than that.

@16:49 economies have nothing to do with aircraft age, if price is good. But age of the aircraft has to do with your hate comment towards Air Serbia 🇷🇸

Passengers don't care if it's 18 year old plane, they also don't know or care if purchased or leased. For example. Lufthansa operated this morning BEG-MUC flight LH1739 by a 30 (!!!) year old D-AILA Airbus. Easy to verify online.

Air Serbia will be operating this fresh-looking 18 year old compared to mighty Lufthansa's 30 year old plane! You will never win this "old plane" effort you are trying to mount against Air Serbia.

LH planes even when 30 years old are in impeccable condition.

The age of the aircraft doesnt really metter when certain things are taken into place. The jet is anyway going on D check once in 5 years i think ( i might be wrong for the period ) but still they are checking everything inside and outside. Every plane is certefied to fly limited flying cicles so until that number is not exceeded it is okay. The most important thing is how well the plane is maintained. The plane can be 5 years old and many things to be broken like the ones Wizz Air operates with broken APU or inop things inside the cabin, or it can be 30 years old and verything to be in operation. Just like with a car. The other thing is that it may spend more fuel than a new verion of that frame like NEO but i am sure JU has its calculations and since they got the plane they know what they are doing.

Can't wait for next A320 to arrive. Air Serbia will have six A320 in operation. That would have been a dream just a couple of years ago. Congrats Air Serbia!

Joke's on you. Cabin looks new, clean and fully functional. Airlines all over the world keep replacing cabin interiors. When they do, it doesn't happen overinght for the whole fleet. There is always a number of aircraft in operation with new type of cabin, and also part of the fleet with old cabin. Many times I took the trip with other airlines with one interior on the way to my destination, completely different interior on the return trip. Never an issue for anyone sensible and reasonable.

He is used to see the same cabin on Wizz, Ryan and other LCC for which is cheaper to have the same interior on every plane cause they can change it easly and faster so that the plane can be back in the air to make more money. But even Wizz has diferent interiors, old ones on the old A320s, newer on A321ceos, new model on A321neo and A320neo and even newer lighter seats on their newest A321neos.
