Air Serbia has taken delivery of its fifth Airbus A320 aircraft today. The jet, registered YU-APV (pictured), arrived from Lithuania this afternoon. The eighteen-year-old aircraft was previously operated by Aegean Airlines. Air Serbia is also expected to take delivery of a sixth A320 shortly. As previously reported by EX-YU Aviation News, it too was formerly operated by the Greek flag carrier. Commenting on the arrival, Air Serbia's CEO, Jiri Marek, said, “The development of our fleet and the introduction of additional aircraft are part of the company’s long-term growth plan. This allows us to further strengthen our operational capabilities and ensure a stable and reliable level of service for passengers, while continuously expanding our route network from Belgrade. Investments in the fleet enable us to maintain a strong market position in the region, while ensuring a high level of efficiency and comfort in our day-to-day operations. Another aircraft of the same type is expected to join the fleet in the coming period, which will further contribute to greater flexibility in flight planning".

18 yrs old????
ReplyDeleteNothing wrong with that
DeleteYes, very old plane
DeleteA3 is a serious operator so it was probably well maintained.
DeleteStill in 2026 one would expect JU to go for newer frames than that.
10:33
Deletewhy not
^ More expensive to maintain and higher CASK.
DeleteLike at least 6 more years in YU-APV, age is not a problem I love older ladies ;)
Delete@10:35 Did you warn Lufthansa and other major airlines they are also operating planes older than 18 years?
Delete@14:06 Having and buying 18 yo plane is different.
Delete@16:49 economies have nothing to do with aircraft age, if price is good. But age of the aircraft has to do with your hate comment towards Air Serbia 🇷🇸
DeletePassengers don't care if it's 18 year old plane, they also don't know or care if purchased or leased. For example. Lufthansa operated this morning BEG-MUC flight LH1739 by a 30 (!!!) year old D-AILA Airbus. Easy to verify online.
DeleteAir Serbia will be operating this fresh-looking 18 year old compared to mighty Lufthansa's 30 year old plane! You will never win this "old plane" effort you are trying to mount against Air Serbia.
LH planes even when 30 years old are in impeccable condition.
DeleteNot even remotely true, not even LH would guarantee that. But we now know it's analiticar LH fan posting those immature comments.
DeleteThe age of the aircraft doesnt really metter when certain things are taken into place. The jet is anyway going on D check once in 5 years i think ( i might be wrong for the period ) but still they are checking everything inside and outside. Every plane is certefied to fly limited flying cicles so until that number is not exceeded it is okay. The most important thing is how well the plane is maintained. The plane can be 5 years old and many things to be broken like the ones Wizz Air operates with broken APU or inop things inside the cabin, or it can be 30 years old and verything to be in operation. Just like with a car. The other thing is that it may spend more fuel than a new verion of that frame like NEO but i am sure JU has its calculations and since they got the plane they know what they are doing.
DeleteWizzair aircraft are almost all very new.
DeleteCan't wait for next A320 to arrive. Air Serbia will have six A320 in operation. That would have been a dream just a couple of years ago. Congrats Air Serbia!
DeleteLiterally. I do miss the 733 however. The bone-shakers. But yeah the fleet management has been well handled in my opinion.
DeleteThere are also and one new leased A320 LY-TEN operated by Get Jet Airlines at BEG on charters to Tunisia and Turkiye.
ReplyDeleteActually what is the number of leased planes tis summer? 4 E190 and 4 A220?
DeleteYes plus probably more to come
DeleteJU4021 from SQQ
ReplyDeleteGiven that A3 is very good airline, I am sure that this a320 would be in better condition than JU ones. APH is in awful condition
ReplyDeleteThey all are tbh
DeleteThey are not as I use them monthly, they are in a very decent condition and always clean. You probably travel ones a year or never and just make up.stories .
DeleteYou can see here by yourself on previous posts
DeleteIt doesn't have the JU interior just like YU-APT.vwhay a joke
ReplyDeleteAnd what is wrong exactly with this interior? YU-APT has Wizz interior.
DeleteJoke's on you. Cabin looks new, clean and fully functional. Airlines all over the world keep replacing cabin interiors. When they do, it doesn't happen overinght for the whole fleet. There is always a number of aircraft in operation with new type of cabin, and also part of the fleet with old cabin. Many times I took the trip with other airlines with one interior on the way to my destination, completely different interior on the return trip. Never an issue for anyone sensible and reasonable.
DeleteThis is not the A3 cabin though
Delete...because it's new
DeleteA3, which leased the plane, had to return it to its original state. The owner is Avion Express.
DeleteAvion Express has nothing to do with this aircraft. It is not an owner. Owner is leasing company AerCap.
DeleteProduct standardisation is unknown to Air Serbia.....
ReplyDeleteSame can be said for many airlines tho
DeleteHe is used to see the same cabin on Wizz, Ryan and other LCC for which is cheaper to have the same interior on every plane cause they can change it easly and faster so that the plane can be back in the air to make more money. But even Wizz has diferent interiors, old ones on the old A320s, newer on A321ceos, new model on A321neo and A320neo and even newer lighter seats on their newest A321neos.
DeleteWho cares? Only JU hater bot looking for anything to spit on.
DeleteIdemo dalje...
ReplyDeleteYU-APU is coming, interesting registration.
ReplyDeleteI have to admit, the business plan for JU appears to be working well these last few years. Well done.
