NEWS FLASH

Air Serbia inaugurated flights between Belgrade and Tenerife this afternoon, marking its seventh destination in Spain. The sold-out inaugural service was operated by an Airbus A320 aircraft, although an A220-300, wet-leased from airBaltic, will operate the majority of flights this winter. Tenerife becomes Air Serbia’s sixth-longest route, behind its long-haul services, and its longest within Europe. Operations were initially scheduled to commence on October 27 but were brought forward to mid-September due to strong demand. Flights will run twice per week. Commenting on the launch, Air Serbia’s General Manager for Commercial and Strategy, Boško Rupić, said, “With the launch of nonstop flights to Tenerife, we continue to expand Air Serbia’s network in Spain, which is one of the most important and attractive tourist destinations in Europe. Strong passenger interest in this service has shown that there is clear demand for a direct link between Belgrade and the Canary Islands. Tenerife is a destination that, thanks to its pleasant year-round weather, offers opportunities to travel outside the traditional summer season, particularly during autumn and winter. We believe that the new service will be of interest to passengers from Serbia and the region, as well as to those travelling to Tenerife from other destinations in our network via Belgrade".

On September 30, the Serbian carrier will launch services to its eighth destination in Spain, Seville. During the January - July period, Air Serbia handled 145.792 passengers on its flights to Spain.

I wonder if they will offer hot meal service in economy - this is basically a medium haul flight.

Reminder: included sandwich and a bottle of water is certainly more than naught included on LCCs for the 4h50m flight.

LH in eco gets you nothing. On medium-haul to Amman, Beirut, Cairo, Baku & Tel Aviv offers only a cold meal for free.

Well, Tenerife is not as cheap as someone might think. Let us see if this will work year arround. ( I live there)

00:39 I visited 3 times from 2013 to 2021. It was dirty cheap in 2013, in 2018 still very cheap, and considerably less cheap in 2021, but still much cheaper than Croatia. How is the situation today compared to Croatia? In Croatia a small beer 0,3 l on the coast is rarely under 4,5 EUR and a 1 course lunch is hard to get under 20 EUR in any decent restaurant. I remember having lunch in most places in Tenerife around 10 EUR. I also remember dirty cheap car rentals and fuel cheaper than anywhere in Europe (due to Spanish subsidies), also the highway around the island being free of charge.
