Wizz Air is continuing to expand in Macedonia with the launch of its new service from London Luton Airport to Ohrid this summer. Flights between the two cities will commence on June 14 and will operate twice per week, on a seasonal summer basis, until September 13. London becomes the second destination to be offered from Ohrid, with the budget airline to introduce flights from the lakeside city to Basel this summer as well (July 1). Wizz Air’s CEO, Gyorgy Abram, said, “We are pleased to announce the further development of our Ohrid operation. Less than 2 months ago we announced our first Ohrid route to Basel Mulhouse Freiburg and today we are adding a second service to London Luton in the UK. We hope that our Ohrid routes commencing this summer will be welcomed by consumers as we bring more low fares to Macedonia”. The Mayor of Ohrid, Nikola Bakračeski, noted, “We are very proud of our region and heritage. Ohrid is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Macedonia and thanks to Wizz Air’s new direct route, we look forward to welcoming many visitors from the UK to our beautiful region”.
