NEWS FLASH

Croatia Airlines will restore regular charter flights between Zagreb and Tel Aviv next month. The carrier plans to resume operations between the two cities on May 13 and run services up to three times per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Initially, the airline will run one weekly flight, increasing to two weekly from June 27 and three weekly from July 3. Tickets for these flights are only available for purchase through tour operators. The carrier suspended its charters to Tel Aviv following the outbreak of war in the country in October 2023.

Why not run these as scheduled flights?

They should definitely make this route scheduled and year round.
The A220 is an ideal aircraft for it.

Well I guess they will first test it and then if there is demand and money to be made establish a regular line.

Scheduled Ben Gurion Airport slots are incredibly hard to come by, even during the war

They also need slots for charters, doesn't really matter is it charter or regular flight when it comes to slots.

Reckless and irresponsible behaviour. Airlines are delaying or terminating flights due to security risks but they are going to fly there. Just yesterday Turkish Airlines, Pegasus and Virging Atlantic terminated their own flights and don't plan on resuming them.

Why is OU taking this risk?!

I think that Turkish airlines have suspended operations mainly because of politics.

Turkish Airlines literally flies to Libya which is far more dangerous and they even resumed Damascus.

OK, Turkish did it because of politics even though they had like 15 daily flights to TLV. And what about Pegasus and Virgin Atlantic? Those are private airlines and they don't give a f*ck about politics.

Actually airlines are rushing back to TLV in a massive way.
The Turkish carriers are out due to Erdogan politics and that has benefited greatly everyone else.
Now is the time for both OU and JU to return to TLV.
Virgin Atlantic not US network is a joke and they haven't resumed TLV anyway.

      Are you blindsighted?
Virgin has cancelled TLV because there are better options for the LHR slots and both TK and PC cancelled because of politics.

Else, Airlines are massively pushing more capacity into TLV.

Pegasus and Turkish do whatever Papa Erdogan will order them so that was done purely because of politics. Look at how many airlines are flying to and from TLV and the answer is clear. Their absence can be easily replaced. Plus there are several Israeli owner airlines starting flights under Romanian and Cypriot flags.
