1 million passengers for an airport like PRN is serious business. This leaves SKP quite behind now as the gap widens more and more.

What is the gap between the two so far?
Unlike PRN, SKP I recall has announced several new destinations recently, so it shouldn't be that far behind.

Gap is growing bigger and they used to be neck to neck in the past:

      https://www.exyuaviation.com/2023/04/former-yugoslav-airports-handle-44.html

      PRN: 649,858
      SKP: 485,125

      Difference: 164,733

      ^ Thnx Anon 19:28

Tbh I was expecting more. PRN has always been busier than Skopje.
I'd say SKP will somewhat narrow the gap during the summer given the fresh subsidies.

20:21 Correct. And by that time starting Jan 2024, visas will be lifted for Kosovo citizens so I guess it will be interesting to see what are the trends.
Also interesting to see how LH will perform in SKP.

SKP will have more then those +13.1% in April as they have an capacity in Q2 increase of some 30% this blog reported

The trends will depend whether PRN sticks to la famigla Reisebüro kind of companies or lure "normal" airlines

Ok but the thing is no one cares about SKP. The most realistic competition is with ZAG

And imagine Wizzair opening a base this year or next year. The increase will be even more.

Little does it matter at this point if they open a base or not. Wizz is doubling their numbers at PRN annually.

of course - after this summer I doubt we will see up to 10 daily charters heading to Turkish coastline anymore.
I would personally like to see new destinations. Thess/Athens, or Napoli/Palermo, Lissabon/Porto...any of them happening would be awesome.

      ^^ Easy peasy
4-5 gates upper floor numbered 200' w air bridges, + a couple beneath numbered 100' for when it gets busy via shuttle 😄

But, what is A and B, as on the photo above? Are those separate gates, or two jetways serving a single aircraft? If former, why simply wouldn't they use different numbers?

    Congrats Pristina, well done!
We used to follow PRN and SKP competition but currently the closest competitor to PRN are SPU and ZAG in particular for the No.2 spot among the ex yu airports.
