NEWS FLASH

Air Serbia has finished upgrading ten narrow-body Airbus aircraft with new seats. Over the last four weeks, the airline installed 1.500 Recaro BL3520 seats, which feature a lightweight design. The tenth and last aircraft to undergo the cabin retrofit was the Airbus A319, registered YU-APF, which went back into service last Sunday. The new seats have enabled the airline to increase seating capacity on its narrow-body Airbus fleet while offering more living space at the same time. This has been achieved though having a slimmer backrest and a literature pocket that sits above the knee area, providing more leg room. Air Serbia's CEO, Dane Kondić, said, “We’re delighted that our cabin upgrade has been completed successfully, with initial feedback from guests being very positive. The new seats are perfect for our narrow-body Airbus jets, which are the backbone of our fleet, and for our network which is focused on short-haul flights in Europe". He added, “Completing the retrofit on schedule means that our aircraft are ready for the summer peak and we can offer more seating capacity to cater to the travel demand. In addition, we have refreshed the cabin interiors with new carpets, curtains and floor path markings that match our A330, aligning the interior décor across our Airbus fleet”. Other amenities, such as on board Wi-Fi connectivity and the Elevate Play service for in-flight entertainment remain available across all Airbus aircraft.

Odlicna sedista do 180 minuta leta. Sto Er srbija sa svojom flotom leti. Izuzimajuci jedinog A332. Najveci broj avio prevoznika u svetu, na kratkim relacijama je prije instaliralo ovakva sedista. Jednostavno Air Serbia je u trendu sa svetom.
Srecna 90 - ta godisnjica Er Srbije. Uspesna vam letnja sezona i nova strategija.

Perfect timing for the high season. Hope additional capacity sells well this summer and keeps LF high. Deeds speak, and what a great way to silence haters. By the time I sat down to respond comments were already locked yesterday but this action speaks volumes more than any comment!

Dude... chill. Everyone said that this should have happened from day 1 in stead of introducing three different business models. Your comment is pointless and misplaced.

haha what is a legacy carrier model? You are either one, or not- it cannot be chosen as a business model :D

So Air Serbia actually had only ONE shift to hybrid, not three. When you look at many other airlines shifting to increasing aux revenue streams, ASL is doing the right thing. At least they are not introducing disasters like British Airways (Deutsche BA), Lufthansa (LH Italia) or United (Ted).

In the initial reply, it was said that they had three different business models which is true.

Well, they can't even dream of those 'disasters' as they are like 1/100th of the airlines you listed there. But don't worry, they have made business decisions which are as bad.

At least the airlines you mentioned there invest in their fleet and fly new aircraft around, unlike a certain airline.

Even when they speak f the hybrid model, they never specify what it is... probably because they don't know it themselves.

Running out of arguments? Three business models: not true, just read the comments above. Other airlines flying new aircraft around? They also fly decades old equipment. Air Serbia invests in their fleet too, they added wifi, airplay, new seats. They announced ATR and Boeing fleet will be reviewed, so they are making all the right moves. Anyway I didn't see any new arguments against slim seats.

Why are the AirSerbia prices for a 1 day trip BEG - VIE, double the prices of BEG - ZRH? ATR vs A320. VIE 38000, ZRH 19000. This is just plain crazy.

Is there a cabin divider between C and Y class?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Anonymous21:01

There is a mini plastic divider and some thick curtains but it is pointless as there is no more business class as such. This business setup is not worth a single penny more than economy. No extra legroom at all. They should be ashamed of selling this as business class.

^ Absolutely not true. In business class you still get a menu, selection of meals, hot towel, ipad with loaded entertainment.Do you think Lufthansa, Swiss, Air France, SAS, Iberia etc should all be ashamed of selling their tickets as business class even though they don't have extra leg room?

If you want to pay 400-500e extra for a towel 2 glasses of wine and for a light meal go for it! Business after all should be comfort and by the way why not compare to those that are better like Turkish, Aeroflot etc

Turkish and Aeroflot are better if you are going East. Air Serbia is mostly going West so it makes a lot more sense to compare to the likes of Lufthansa, Swiss, Air France, SAS, Iberia etc.

Awful and uncomfortably hard? Complain to Austrian, Swiss, Brussels, SAS, Lufthansa and Croatian Airlines. They all use similar or identical Recaro slimsline seats. Let us know how those airlines responded to your complaints!

I had the opportunity to experience the new seats on BEG-PUY a few days ago and boy do I appreciate the additional legroom, being 1.90m. I always struggled with my knees on 90+ min flights, but not anymore. Couldn't care less about back comfort.
