NEWS FLASH

Air Serbia has confirmed that its second wide-body Airbus A330 aircraft, which is to be delivered this October, will also feature a special livery. Much like its special Nikola Tesla livery on the current A330, which features the scientist’s image on the tail, as well as specialised on board meals inspired by the inventor, the second jet will also boast a famous individual. “The aircraft will be decorated with the image of a famous person who is celebrated in Serbia and by the Serbian people”, the carrier’s CEO, Jiri Marek, said.

But c'mon why not - 'Tesla livery' looks very nice - the feedback was ultimately very positive, and is according to what other airlines are doing, so way to go!

The only question would be - who would be that person to be featured, to be widely recognizable? As for instance Pupin and Milankovic indeed are not widely recognizable...

Although I am not a huge fan - think that this would actually be a very smart move, and perhaps the only reasonable one - if it were to have a celeb. featured.

Novak resonates very well with the people from both China and the US (and the rest of the world).

I LOVE it! Imagine for the US Open a HUGE Djokovic image on the plane! One with Toma Zdravkovic would immediately bring a tear to the eye of anyone seeing it. For the one going to China an image of Walter Brani Sarajevo on the plane would guarantee sold out flights for the next 15 years! Apparently the Chinese were in love with him.

I think they are over-doing it. One person (Tesla) is enough, if they do this again it is repetitive, they need to think outside the box and constantly come up with something new. Not to mention that I do not see a single person famous enough to be featured on the plane's tail

I don’t get why everyone is complaining, it’s a really cool concept that promotes Serbia around the world, and a pretty good investment. As for the menus, I’m pretty sure they got rid of them but it would be nice for them to be based off Novak Djokovic’s diet regime if his face gets painted on.

The only one worldwide famous would be Novak but I really hope they'll not pick him. It would be ridiculous. Someone mentioned Bata Živojinović (Valter) and indeed he'd be insanely recognized but only in China. Anyhow, I'd prefer normal, AirSerbia livery.

When deployed to China, it should be Walter! Then, when flying to USA it must be Marina Abramovic, When used as a charter - is should be Caca "nationale" or Karleusa or Lukas... and so on and on. Why to stick only to one face @name!

With that said, normal livery would be nice. With update to engine covers to be fully horizontal not "climbing". And they really should do something with the typeface. It is just not right. Regards, Eight.

Serbia does not have real worldwide celebrities atm. Djokovic is such a shame and he hasn't learnt to be a global celebrity. He is a local boy and his behaviour is not good representation of our country, or maybe he does represent it in the very realistic way. I hope it is Putin. Two of our 3 best scientists ever, had to go to USA to become scientists.

Why does it matter if someone is worldwide famous? It's a Serbian airline flying mostly Serbian citizens therefore it doesn't matter if a person from our history is known in the rest of the world.
