Italy’s national carrier ITA Airways will commence operations between Rome and Split next month, marking the continuation of the seasonal service previously maintained by its predecessor Alitalia. However, despite plans to serve Dubrovnik over the summer as well, the route will not be going ahead. Instead, the Italian carrier codeshares on Croatia Airlines’ service between the two cities (as flight AZ7022/23). ITA will maintain operations between the Italian capital and Split once per week, each Thursday, from August 4 until August 25 with its Airbus A320 aircraft.
Interesting about the codeshare. Do not remember Croatia Airlines and Aliatalia codesharing in the past. Or did they?

DeleteIt’s positively ghastly. Not to mention that it’s heavier than most paint jobs, so the planes wearing it consume significantly more fuel. Absolutely foolish and displeasing to the eye.

ReplyDeleteOld Alitalia was a perfect example of both fashion and design - livery, uniforms, colors, details, everything was perfect. This now is disaster which only shows how civil aviation generally is progressively deteriorating
