NEWS FLASH
Edelweiss Air will become the first airline in Switzerland to put the Airbus A350-900 aircraft into service next year. According to current planning, the first of six aircraft will join the Edelweiss fleet at the beginning of April 2025. Before the jet is deployed on long-haul routes, it will fly to various short and medium-haul destinations in the first few weeks, including Pristina. The aircraft is currently scheduled to operate flights between Zurich and Pristina on May 17 and May 19 next year, with additional dates expected to be scheduled in the coming weeks. Changes at this early stage remain possible. The Edelweiss A350s will feature 339 seats, including thirty in business, 63 in premium economy, and the remaining 246 seats in economy class.
A stunning aircraft; I envy Pristina!
ReplyDeleteTitle spelling error, says Edelweiss Ai, should be Edelweiss Air
ReplyDeleteWhat if it is actually AI that scheduled the aircraft on Priština route? ;D
DeleteA350 to the country of two million people. Where did we get her....
ReplyDeleteThis is my first comment here, and I couldn’t resist replying. Why focus on population size when it comes to airplane diversity? Keflavik Airport in a country with barely more than 300,000 inhabitants sees a colorful variety of airplanes. Let’s leave behind this mentality of quantifying worth based on population size. Variety and interest in aviation should transcend numbers!
DeleteNot very good, it's good to see an A350 full of migrant young people from the country going to slave in Germany or Switzerland?!
DeleteEdelweiss Before SWISS? Wowza!
ReplyDeletehahahahah imagine THAT check-in
ReplyDeleteI want to fly on that beauty.
ReplyDeleteLucky ducks!
So how Edelweiss knows that for April 2025 they will have this big plane fully booked for the route ? Or they will just send it even it is empty , not make any logic sense ... :D its I guess a gambling game.
ReplyDeleteMigrants for holidays. Will be full.
DeleteIts not a gambling game. They will send the aircraft anyway cause the crew will need trainining on it and they will need to get used to it before they use it on long-haul flights. It is something that every airline does when they get a new wide-body aircraft type. They have been operating to PRN for years now and for sure they know better if there is demand for such a aircraft on the route or not. We have seen many posts here that the A340 is been deployed to operate PRN flights. Also, it is very logical for me that they put the A350 to PRN cause there are a lot of diaspora going to Switzerland and back every day.
DeleteEdelweiss sends wide-bodies to Pristina every year so I am sure the A350s will be full. They chose the route for a reason - it is a short-haul route that they know will be busy.
