NEWS FLASH

Skopje Airport handled 208.628 passengers in January, representing a decrease of 9.2% on the same month last year. The airport welcomed 21.189 fewer travellers than in January 2024. The number of aircraft movements decreased 7.5%. The reduced figures have been primarily fuelled by Wizz Air, which removed 56.266 seats from the market, or 27.9% of its capacity during the month.

Some of those numbers are also affected by the fog days and alot of cancelled flights and diverted to other airports. The positive sign is now from March the increase is back!!

Last year there were more diversions than this year. Still only 9% decline is good as last year during that period Wizz Air had 6 planes at Skopje and now only four.

It was never announced for "this month". It was just said that they applied for the tender and will be approved finances to launch flights. That's it. No need to make things up.

It was confirmed and accepted that they apply on the tender , but possibly they change their mind and did not continue with the process.

The problem is that travelers from Kosovo have decreased recently, while at the same time the passengers go to Pristina's advantage.

No the real problem is W6 in this moment. Kosovo numbers that you are mentioned are not crutial in this case.

208k for January is good , if we know that this is the slowest month , but W6 cuttings are still high in SKP as we expected. But positive sign is now March started with growing and will keep like that during all year :))
