More passengers flying with Jat
Despite management wrangling last week, Jat Airways has posted an impressive 23% passenger increase in November 2010, compared to the same month last year. The airline carried 70.108 passengers compared to 56.800 last year. Since September, the Serbian carrier has also seen an increase in revenue by 18%. Jat’s media centre has reported that the airline kept a 40% share of all departures out of Belgrade despite competition from 32 airlines. Until the end of November, Jat Airways has carried 988.639 passengers in 2010.

Meanwhile, Jat, which was supposed to commence flights between Portorož and Rome yesterday, has delayed the service until January 13, although it is believed that the route will be cancelled. Jat employees have said that the route is unprofitable and have called on the new management to cancel the planned flights. There has been some good news for employees as most are returning to the airline’s headquarters in central Belgrade, a week after they were moved to neglected buildings near the airport which have not been used in 20 years. This week, the airline withdrew the first 2 million Euros out of a 51.5 million Euro credit, Serbian media report.

If I recall correctly didn't they say that they would need about 2 million for the new planes?
If not, then I fear that this loan will not be used for this and that and in the end nothing will be left.

Maybe your comment needs to be little bit reshaped. Prerequisit for that is to read related article. A little bit.

All of us here know very well how young is Jat`s fleet and all other issues related to Jat and BEG`s market.
In sense of that, it is challenging to post a comment on figures mentioned in the article.

    Spit is old fashion.

@SKP So? You don't even know if the photo is genuine, not to mention when it was taken!
Jesus Christ, how crazy, you just have to write something negative, not even commenting the article. You wouldn't feel any positivity even if you won 1.000.000l euros. Damn Serbian psychology...

I miss Yugoslav Airlines... Jat Airways is crap. All there is is the worst from old JAT. So what if they carried more passengers? Not a big deal.... They are done.

They will never be done while the state covers their losses. Everyone should know that.
However I am really dissappointed at some of the silly comments on here.
Haven't you read that Belgrade is served by 32 different carriers? So looking at that one can see that Jat has had a very hard year and the fact that they managed to post positive results is indeed a great and important achievement!
How many airlines serve Zagreb? Ljubljana? Skopje? Podgorica?
Look at FYROM, they have just a few airlines flying there and they still can not make an airline work. Croatia has the coast and so many tourists but they are still swimming in the red... So please look at your own situation before bashing us Serbs!

    Good Luck Jat

I am really puzzled what's going on here guys.....aviation in all ex-yu-republics is in a bad condition. Cumulative losses of adria, croatia, jat, bh, mgx more than 60 million €. So there is no single airline or country that has a better standing then the others and FYR Macedonia even lacking an own airline. So guys, no need to feel superior about each other and fight. Same Balkan shit everywhere...OK?
