Ryanair will be expanding its presence in Podgorica with the introduction of flights from Dublin to the Montenegrin capital. Operations will commence on April 2, 2020 and run twice per week, each Thursday and Sunday. As a result, Ryanair becomes the first airline to link Ireland and Montenegro with a scheduled air service. It will bring the carrier’s number of routes from Podgorica to eight. The low cost airline plans to handle over 175.000 passengers on its flights to and from Montenegro this year, up from 150.000 in 2018. ReplyDeleteStupid for what? Launching profitable routes? Dublin route will be more for Irish people who comes in Montenegro for Summer Holidays. As Montenegrins need visa to travel Ireland with those to have to be applied in Budapest this is not an easy opportunity. Also Albanians need to apply in Athens for that. So....

Nope. OU is flying to DUB during winter time table. Stops in Feb, but starts in April again. I guess due to A/C maintenance.

DeleteSpeaking of TGD. Is there any plan or outlook for installing jetways there on the new terminal building? It can get two or three jetways as currently its the only capital in the region besides Tirana not to have jetway equipped gates.

FR' massive growth in TGD is bad news for JU.
DeleteThe more direct and affordable kinks to Europe Montenegro gets the less reliant it will be to BEG and JU. That will drive down pax numbers and prices for JU from TGD.
JU has seen growth in passenger numbers from Montenegro this year.

Not all tourists are heading to the northern towns like Budva etc, far more convenient to fly to Podgorica for anything south of Petrovac.
DeletePodgorica is also better placed for visiting the mountain regions.
