NEWS FLASH

United Airlines has said it continues to see strong demand for its seasonal flights between New York’s Newark Airport and Dubrovnik despite the ongoing war in Ukraine and rising costs. The service, which was launched last year, is due to resume later next month. “We have not seen any softness in terms of demand [to Croatia]”, Patrick Quayle, United’s Senior Vice President of International Network and Alliances, said. However, he added there might be some impact on demand for connections to cities further east in countries like Poland and Romania that are served by United’s partner Lufthansa. In 2021, United noted it had “incredible” success on its Dubrovnik route. This year, the carrier will restore operations on May 27 with four weekly rotations planned. All flights will be maintained by the Boeing 767-300 aircraft. The airline's first flight of the season, in exactly a month's time, is already sold out in business class from Newark.

No surprises here, it's the first time since 2019 that Americans can properly travel, so the pent-up demand to Mediterranean destinations is huge. DBV will profit handsomely for sure.

And this year they don't have to compete against Delta on the same route.

it's not exactly the same route, i'm surprised delta bowed out. i'd never fly from newark tbh, i'd rather connect in ams or cdg.

For what? For Croatia Airlines flying to the US, making ZAG hub for both pax and cargo, using potentials of tourist and ethnic traffic from its own coast and the entire region? Oh, wait, it's Air Serbia and BEG, not Hrvatska

Your right not to care about what OU does, the same as my right is to care. For life with or without them, fully agree, my life is much better without them. Still it doesn't mean should keep my mouth shut. Better to be broken record than silently approve their crime, corruption and incompetence

Yeah but in every comment, it gets annoying. Because OU is inept that doesn't mean i should not enjoy Croatian airport's successes. When BEG or SJJ get new routes from foreign airlines should everyone start complaining how ''JU should have operated this'' or ''B&H should have made SJJ hub and fly to US''? Show must go on. Also regarding this topic in particular, flying to US is not essential to be a successful and profitable company. Long-haul obssession as always.

Ok, very good to know OU is succesfull and profitable company. For Uhljebs and dirty politicians and so called managers. You said everything with your last sentence and I am fully aware that I am annoying to those of your kind, which I will continue to do and you are more than welcome to skip my posts

In my case, no help is needed for sure. In your case, I can just feel sorry for you. Usually those instructing others to seek help are ones who actually need help. And lacking arguments, you turn discussion about the topic to personal. And I will not accept it. You are more than welcome to reply to this post as well. But I will not. Pametniji popusta.

They should for sure think about flying daily now that Delta is gone. They should also think about direct flights to Zagreb, they could really score a jackpot with those flights, there is a big demand from Zagreb to NYC

Even without direct flights at the moment, Dubrovnik is already full of US tourists.
