Flydubai has handled the most passengers on its Dubai – Belgrade service during the first half of 2022 since launching operations to the city eleven years ago. The carrier welcomed 59.136 passengers on its flights during the first half of 2022, up 45.9% on the same period last year and an increase of 83.2% on the pre-pandemic 2019. JU should get 4th A330 and join the game, offering premium product and compete. It’s not too late and they should keep eyes very close to DBX and be ready to jump in.

This route has matured nicely and is now more than capable to welcome Emirates with a year-round daily 777-300 service. Don't forget that many people avoid flydubai because of their seat pitch on this 5 hour journey.

That is my wish as well, however I do think yields (business class passengers as well as potential First) are not that big in numbers to justify a 777 operating a flight to BEG.
Also what comes to mind is a possibility that they use 787 once they get it eventually. Who knows, it still remains to be seen but having EK in Belgrade would be a major thing.

First Class no, but business does quite well on FZ... yields are also not bad at all... the 2-class 77L would be ideal to start with and do the afternoon service (38J 264Y) with FZ still doing the evening departure.

The first Middle East airline that eventually decides to offer a non-LCC (flydubai) and single aisle (Qatar) service from Belgrade will take up all the market currently taken by flydubai, Qatar, WizzAir and more notably Turkish Airlines and Pegasus. This market is huge and profitable, and sooner or later someone will conclude this, I'm hoping it's Emirates.

What is the share of transfer pax on this route, and where are they originating? Serbia will re-introduce visas for Indian nationals from January 1st, and I wonder what effect this may have on the route performance.

Valid question but from what I heard few months back is that the majority of Indian tourists travelled via Istanbul, not sure if that is true.
