NEWS FLASH

Air Serbia will sign a codeshare agreement with a carrier from the United States in June according to the airline’s CEO, Jiri Marek. Speaking at a launch event held by the US Embassy in Serbia for the carrier’s upcoming service to Chicago, commencing tomorrow, Mr Marek noted, “The most important news that will come very soon is that at the beginning of June we will be signing, in person, a codeshare agreement with one of the American carriers”. The development will enable Air Serbia to offer greater connectivity throughout the United States. In January, Air Serbia expanded its interline partnership with American Airlines offering passengers connections between Belgrade and over seventy additional destinations in the United States. Live coverage of Air Serbia's service launch between Belgrade and Chicago begins on EX-YU Aviation News on Wednesday at 05.00 CEST / Tuesday 22.00 CDT.

What is the difference between interline and code share agreement from the passengers' perspective?
Different prices, benefits, protection in case of cancellation, delay, frequent flyer.... Anyone would be so kind to explain this?

I hope it will be American Airlines. I flew CDG-JFK and back on March and they were absolutely amazing. AA should serve BEG in my opinion.

AA is by far the worst carrier in the US especially if you are flying on their MAX. Best in terms fo quality is Delta followed by UA.

But JU is flying to JFK and ORD and plan on flying to MIA so AA makes the most sense.

Lol I flew EWR-MIA onboard their 737 MAX and I can tell you that it was a very pleasant flight and I had nothing to complain with. Try by yourself before listening to bad comments, not everybody had a good experience with AA the same way someone can have a nice experience. It also work with other airlines :) They all take you from point A to your point B.

In my opinion the best is jetBlue followed by Delta and then United. I've never been on American Airlines so I can't tell.
B6 has very generous legroom, great crew, good onboard product and so on. I hope JU gets a codeshare with them in addition to AA.

Air SERBIA better be joining Oneworld alliance so that American Airlines could easily fly to BEG. Thus, BA may start Belgrade flights again if JU joins Oneworld.

FYI: family member purchased ticket using expedia from South Dakota to Belgrade via Chicago. First flight is AA then ord to beg is Air Serbia. So it seems like they are doing something with AA already since family was able to buy the ticket under 1 price/ticket. same ticket was not available via AA, AS or listed on google flight tracker tho.

Recent news mentioned partnership (not necessarily codeshare) with North American airline. That could mean airline from either US or Canada (even Mexico). Is this about a different airline from today's announcement?

Have flown on all the major US carriers and here is my ranking regarding service, hospitality, on-time performance and aircraft. Of course have had some excellent flights on all of them but overall these are the best.
Delta, United, JetBlue and American. Albeit all in business class except JetBlue of course.

First of all the only Serbian embassy is in Washington DC. Anywhere else including Chicago is a consulate. Secondly, if it’s not one wold or star alliance, it’s not relevant
