Low cost carrier T’Way Air has commenced sales for its new service between Seoul Incheon Airport and Zagreb. As previously reported, flights will launch on May 16 and operate three times per week with the Airbus A330-300 aircraft. The outbound journey will be maintained with a technical stop in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, while the inbound flights will run nonstop. Passengers will not leave the aircraft in Bishkek during the one-hour stop. The carrier’s A330-300 aircraft has twelve seats in business class and 335 in economy. The airline operates on a low cost model, with amenities such as blankets and pillows available for purchase in both classes of travel, while there is no onboard entertainment.
T'Way Air is set to expand its European operations after the European Commission gave its approval for the planned mega-merger between South Korea’s two largest airlines - Korean Air and Asiana. As a pre-condition, the European Commission has outlined that T’Way Air must take over slots from the two airlines for some flights from Seoul to Paris, Barcelona, Frankfurt and Rome during the second half of this year to alleviate competition concerns. The carrier is expected to wet-lease aircraft from Korean Air to operate those flights.

Fares are actually quite expensive. Definitely not LCC pricing. But good news about the new route.
ReplyDeletePrices are exactly as expected. I wrote about them in the previous article about Tway on this side. There is a limited amount of "event fares" (the less expensive option) that are already nearly sold out. Additional special offers are possible but for Zagreb in summer chances are slim.

DeleteAlthough everyone says that meals are available on purchase only, I am currently checking the fares and services for ICN-ZAG RT flight on carrier's website and two meals are included in all fares, as well as hand luggage and check-in luggage up to 15 kg. Second tier fare includes 23 kg. check-in baggage.

Deletebut sadly the era of JAT still far surpasses the current era, in terms of brand recognition and long-haul flights at least.
Their website is absolutely abysmal, especially in English. Makes it hard to even try to make a booking. Prices are also not low cost it seems, of course it is a long flight but for the prices I am not sure why someone would choose this route, especially with the extra time during the fuel stop. It does look like meals and baggage are included in all fare though despite what this post says.
DeleteTheir web site is useless, it looks like a joke. I could not even check the prices but to me max. price for return ticket should be 350 Euros. Because you can fly for 450 from Vienna or some other town with normal company. If they present as LCC price should be at least half price then usual fares
ReplyDeleteYou can fly for 450 ONE WAY from Vienna. Don't mislead people. Prices are fair considering there is zero competition, meals are included and tway in general is very good (if you are used to European lowcost you'll find their seats way too comfortable)

ReplyDeleteNo, you can fly return for 500 Euros from Vienna ( i did not check other cities like Budapest etc .). It is not direct flight obviously but for someone like me who does not care about that it is bizzare to find T ways fares as LCC fares because they simple are not. Or i am crazy but i would never pay 1000 Euros for return ticket Europe - Seoul. LCC price should be at least half price from the chepest fare you can find with no LCC company. I dont care about comments from the people from aviation industry. I am not, i am normal traveller and to me T way prices are too expensive

DeleteEvery good or service has its target group, you’re obviously not for T’Way, but there are tons of people willing to pay these prices for direct flight.
After all, time will tell whether they’ve miscalculated or not.
