NEWS FLASH

Aegean Airlines has suspended ticket sales for its planned new service between Skopje and Corfu, which was to commence in early June with the routing Athens - Skopje - Corfu - Skopje - Athens. The flights were to be maintained twice per week on Tuesdays and Saturdays, with the Skopje - Athens leg to run on Wednesdays and Sundays in the morning. Under its revised schedule, Aegean Airlines appears to have completely cancelled the two weekly flights and will no longer operate between Athens and Skopje on the two days either, reducing its overall frequencies between the two capitals from daily to five weekly starting June 4. Further changes remain possible.

Pity. Could be that they have plane shortage since ATH-SKP is also being reduced.

I never really understood the point of this route/ I get flying is more convenient than driving, but Corfu really is not that far. Not to mention that when you land in Corfu you need to rent a vehicle as the public transport is abysmal, so that inflates the price of the convenience of flying by quite a lot.

I agree. It'd make sense if it was launched to ZAG or LJU which are both far and have a lot of visitors to Corfu, but most Macedonians and Albanians just drive there

Stop inventing excuses. Wizzair also made cuts in SKP. OHD is not doing well neither. Failure to restore Gulf flights for so many years. Clearly, TAV is not doing a well job in the country :)

Wizz Air reduced flights because of engine issues, which you know full well.

Zagreb has Corfu with Ryanair. Ljubljana has charters with Trade Air.
