NEWS FLASH

Croatia Airlines is showcasing its Airbus A220-300 aircraft on static display at the Istanbul Airshow, taking place from today until September 28. The aircraft is being displayed today and tomorrow on behalf of its owner, the Air Lease Corporation. “The Istanbul Airshow is a fantastic opportunity to present our fleet advancements and connect with key industry leaders from around the world”, Croatia Airlines said in a statement. The jet is due to return to revenue service for the carrier on September 28, operating a flight between Zagreb and Amsterdam in the morning, followed by a Zagreb - Frankfurt rotation in the evening.

Nice that they can spare an aircraft for 2-3 days... I guess September is not that busy?

I would rather say, they are doing right this time since they are preserving PW1500 service time by not flying it. I can imagine Croatia Airlines negotiating power with PW, zero to none if engines go crazy like they did with Cyprus Airways A220's. Plus RTX will use it's power in military sector to negotiate (shut up) small government owned anirlines and small European governments.

Right, spend millions on a plane to literally not use it because its upkeep is too expensive... Maybe they should've picked a different plane for the makeover?

They are probably getting paid for that and they don't pay lease for those days.

Of course they are getting paid and comensated by the Air Lease Corporation. So much hatred here.

Ryanair is number 1 in Europe. It's not a shame to lose against Ryanair. Croatia Airlines has a much bigger problem. It cannot win against Volotea and Transavia. In its own country.

What a joke of an airline. One new aircraft and it's not even used. Come on, this is ridiculous, even for funny Croatia Airlines.

It's been heavily used since it came into service every day except one day for the Birthday celebrations last week and now Istanbul. OU are being paid for the Aircraft to be at the Airshow for 3 days.

I would not say "heavily". It is used on just 2 rotations per day.

It's been used on 3 rotations sometimes and even 4 once or twice.
