Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport handled its eight-millionth passenger of the year today. The milestone was achieved for the first time in a single year. The traveller was registered on an Air Serbia flight to Athens. Belgrade Airport’s CEO, Chivoine Rem, said, “Today, we mark a significant milestone in the history of Belgrade Airport - welcoming our eight-millionth passenger, reflecting VINCI Airports' commitment to positioning Belgrade as a key hub for air traffic in the region. This achievement would not have been possible without the extensive expansion works carried out since 2019, and most importantly, without the trust of our passengers. We thank the passengers who place their trust in Belgrade Airport”. Air Serbia’s Chief Operations Officer, Milan Malović, noted, “Welcoming the eight-millionth passenger at Belgrade's Nikola Tesla Airport represents a significant milestone, and Air Serbia is honoured to have played a key role in achieving this remarkable success. As the national carrier, we remain committed to advancing Serbia's aviation sector and positioning Belgrade as a leading hub in the region. We congratulate Belgrade Airport on this achievement. To Mr Zagoruychenko [eight-millionth passenger], who has been awarded a ticket to any scheduled destination within Air Serbia's network, we wish a pleasant flight and an unforgettable experience in the city of his choice”. In addition to the complimentary return ticket, the traveller was awarded a 100 euro duty free voucher and one-year complimentary priority lane use at the airport.

ReplyDeleteIt’s hard to be amazed by Belgrade consideting it’s the only real airport in the country, which is, by the way, horrendously centralized… Speaking of which, it’s time for Novi Sad to get its own low cost airport which could in a way, serve Belgrade as well..
