Construction of Solinair’s new maintenance hangar at Ljubljana Airport is progressing on schedule, with work expected to be completed early next year. The facility will be fully operational by March 2026. The Solinair hangar is being built on the site of the former GIO Aviation hangar. Covering 3.250 square metres, the facility will be capable of servicing CRJ, ATR, Embraer, Airbus A220, and A320-family narrow-body aircraft. It will be able to accommodate up to three aircraft simultaneously. The hangar will also feature workshops for engines, electrical systems, metalworking, and painting, along with a dedicated paint shop, warehouses, server rooms, archives, and administrative offices located on the upper floor. Solinair, a Slovenian-registered cargo airline and maintenance provider, performs maintenance work for Lufthansa, Helvetic Airways, Finnair and Nigerian carriers Ibom Air and ValueJet.
Do they fly the planes from Nigeria to Ljubljana just for maintenance? Surely no? The costs would be astronomical
ReplyDeleteYes, they do, normally with a fuel stop in Tamanrasset. Currently, there is also an Air Samarkand A321neo on maintenance with Adria.

Slovenija nije tako daleko od Nigerije. Koliko je daleko Hong Kong, Singapur, Manila i Seul od Sidneja. U te gradove Qantas je slao i salje svoje avione na C i D checking. Ovi tehnicki centri su daleko izmedju sedam i deset ipo sati od Sidneja. Ocigledno da do sada se nije koristio Avioinzenjering na podrucju Balkana za odrzavanje aviona van svojeg podrucja.
ReplyDeleteJos prije deset godina sam pokusao da predlozim da se na Aerodromu Morava Kraljevo napravi pored ostalog i MRO za motore i avio komponente. Nacalnik Raskog okruga koji me je tada primijo i saslusao, nista me razumeo nije. Cudio se... Slicno kao sto se poneko sada iscudjava razdaljini Lubljane i Najrobija. Da se vrsi odrzavanje. Do Britanija, Francuska, Nemacka, Holandija i Austrija, uvek s bil blizu i drugim kontinentima. Kada se ukazuju mogucnosti i u Ljubljani, pokazuje se preduzimljivost i sposobnost.
Ukoliko bi Aerodromi Srbije se prihvatili razvoja jednog centra za odrzavanje i opravku na jeednom od svojih cetiri aerodroma, decentralizacija i novi izbor bi se ostvario. Razvoj
IT i vazduhoplovsva su buducnost uspesnosti ovog dela dvadeset prvog veka.
