Belgrade-based company Avio Network, owned by Slovenian national Aleš Luci, has signed an agreement to acquire Jat Tehnika, the
TangoSix portal has reported. It comes as its current owner, Avia Prime, divests from businesses in the region. Avio Network must now obtain regulatory approvals and expects the process to be completed in the first quarter of 2026. Avio Network employs around ninety people, mostly aircraft mechanics, engineers, maintenance planners and other staff, and is headquartered at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport. The company began operations in 2017, initially focusing on aircraft washing and cleaning services. It has held aircraft towing and pushback licences since 2022, as well as aircraft maintenance approvals. Among its clients are Air Serbia, easyJet, Lumiwings, Leav and DAT. Jat Tehnika operates across approximately 480.000 square metres of space, including three hangars. Avia Prime recently
reached an agreement to sell the Ljubljana-based Adria Tehnika to easyJet.
Somehow would have preferred to read that the facilities were acquired by AFI / KLM EM, LHT or Sabena Technics....having huge expertise and financial strength for development.
ReplyDeleteI.understand the argument but I prefer that to be a local company that has an intrinsic interest in developing the business and growing in the local markets
DeleteMy guess is, eventually it will be acquired by one of those. Avio Network is here just to turn around company and resell it later.
DeleteWeren't the Czechs supposed to do that?
DeleteBravo Slovenia! 🇸🇮
ReplyDeleteWill Jat continue as brand?
ReplyDeleteHighly doubtful.
DeleteI want to see LH Technik in Belgrade.
ReplyDeleteNext to LHT Budapest and LHT Sofia????
DeleteWhy not there are a lot of qualified engineers in Serbia we need more and more engineers for the growing serbian air traffic and Air Serbia.
DeleteBefore acquiring all that, why wouldn’t they modernize their hangars, and the parking for planes, seeing the satellite images, the planes are practically all stuck together
ReplyDeleteWhy is JU not interested in acquiring Jat Tehnika?
ReplyDeleteThat's a good question.
DeleteIt would be great for them to have the maintenance in house for their expansion.
Actually, main customer for JAT Tehnika will be Air Serbia
DeleteSo it makes sense to actually own it.
DeleteSeems to me a much better investment than building a hotel.
That way they could also reduce the money they spent in Naples for maintenance.
Looks like Air Serbia decided not to build own hangar and MRO. This is what they said back in May:
DeleteMost likely, we will decide within the next three months to build our hangar for line and base maintenance. The MRO project will most likely happen in partnership, however, there are many options still on the table”, Mr Marek said. The project would include additional aircraft parking positions at the airport, while the hangar should have the ability to accommodate jets from the airline’s A330 fleet

DeleteSeems like it is too early for JU's managers to make a decision.
Seems like they already made a decision.
DeleteYes they did, the wrong one!
