NEWS FLASH

Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport is experiencing a second consecutive day of delays and disrupted operations due to ongoing adverse weather conditions. However, the scale of delays has eased compared to yesterday, with a limited number of flights cancelled. Air Serbia and Wizz Air operated a number of delayed services overnight in an effort to recover their schedules.

In addition to the weather, yesterday’s disruptions and extended turnaround times were exacerbated by congestion on the apron, which left arriving aircraft unable to park as all contact gates were occupied by delayed aircraft. Ground handling constraints further contributed to delays, with some passengers reporting baggage delivery times of up to two hours, especially in the late evening and early morning hours.

Taxiways R1-R4, D2, D4, D5 and D6 are closed until at least 23:00 CET tonight due to snow. Portions of the inserted runway 12R/30L are closed for taxi operations due to snow. The airport is closed to diverted flights until midday tomorrow.

An extreme weather warning for snow and ice remains in effect in Belgrade until 23:59 tomorrow. Ground transportation to and from the airport is functioning normally, both in terms of public transport and taxi services. There is a standard number of taxis located at the taxi pick-up area outside the arrivals hall.

Heavy snow, strong winds and low visibility are causing issues across Europe. The severe weather system has caused widespread delays and cancellations. KLM has so far cancelled 300 flights for today. Since last Friday, the Dutch carrier has cancelled close to 1.000 flights.

Yesterday must have been a fun day for LX station manager. One A321 had 3 empty seats while the other was overbooked by 13 passengers. Imagine all those angry people

Because yesterday's Berlin flight was cancelled and all flights are currently full because it's pre-Christmas. So they operated the flight from yesterday and today jointly with A330.

Yes, indeed I can compare whather an airport is in complete collapse, like, for example and Emirates plane waiting 5 hours to taxi from the runway to the gate.
