NEWS FLASH
Air Serbia is increasing capacity on its daily service between Belgrade and Sarajevo this coming summer. The carrier will replace the 72-seat ATR72-600 turboprop aircraft on over half of its flights on the route with the 118-seat Embraer E195 jet starting May 30. As a result, 70% of all Sarajevo flights will be operated by the E195 in June, 74% in July, 71% in August, 70% in September and 71% in October. During the 2026 summer season, which runs from March 29 until October 24, Air Serbia has 40.176 seats on offer on the Sarajevo service, representing a year-on-year increase of 26.5% or an additional 8.416 seats.

Well, if no midnight flights were possible, this is good solution.

DeleteWhy are the night flights not possible?
Deletethe airport is closed.
DeleteI’m not sure that’s actually true. Kuwait Airways had night flights from Sarajevo on sale for the summer, with arrivals around 2 AM and departures around 4 AM. Those flights have now been removed from sale. I don’t know if that’s due to airport opening hours or the situation in the Middle East
DeleteIf I remember correctly Aegean also had one weekly midnight charter from SJJ last summer. Although I do understand that SJJ management is not willing to operate every night, and that would be pretty much only because of JU.
DeleteOn the other hand, JU still needs to offer more frequencies for better connectivity. A few early morning and late evening departures could be added.
SJJ works 24/7 in the summer flight schedule. It would be better if JU announced morning flights to allow passengers to connect to their first wave.
DeleteFinally some growth of the Sarajevo route!

DeleteEmbraers are doing wonders for JU
ReplyDeleteI agree and hope ERJs unlock some ATR capacity for routes like MBX.
DeleteOr MUC!
DeleteIf JU wanted to launch Maribor they would till now. Also who is gonna fly 2 hours to MUC on ATR72 when Lufthansa is operating the route few times per day and also Wizz Air every day to FMM using A321neo?
DeleteHuge boost
ReplyDeleteBravo Air Serbia 🇷🇸🇷🇸🇷🇸
ReplyDeleteGood news. Happy to hear this.
ReplyDeleteWill they be able to connect SJJ with Tirana and Skopje?
ReplyDeleteI think JU might be regretting they didn't launch Yerevan. There will be a huge demand from Iran from there.
