NEWS FLASH
Croatia Airlines’ CEO, Jasmin Bajić, is expected to remain at his post, albeit as an acting CEO, after his existing four-year contract concludes in May. Out of 72 managers across 36 strategic state companies in Croatia, more than half are in acting positions rather than holding full four-year mandates. This is due to delays in implementing a new law on state-owned enterprise management, which is part of Croatia’s OECD accession reforms. Because the necessary regulations haven’t been adopted, the government keeps extending mandates every six months, instead of conducting proper selection processes.
Mr Bajić is one of the few managers whose full mandate is expiring soon. Therefore, he is likely to move into a temporary/acting status. Croatia Airlines’ CEO has a long history of operating under temporary mandates. He was previously described as a “record holder” for repeated extensions of acting mandates, having served as acting CEO for years before receiving a full term.

Deletewhats interesting is that there is now a very clear list, 72 names list of the useless people thought it would be much longer turns out at least 72 holding the nation back
Delete@Slav.Man
DeleteThose 72, Jasmin included, are not holding the nation back. Poor Jasmin, for example, he makes no decisions on anything. He is just a puppet, the same as other 71. The other real "players" make decisions, the other real "players" get percent share on billions or at least millions contracts, and puppets just execute orders. Croatia is no less partitocracy than Serbia or any other ex-yu country. We still have Party/Mafia which make decisions instead of qualified professionals. It is so sad that we had more freedom and independence within economic subjects during ex-yu self-management system than we have today. Yes, 72 before mentioned are part of machine that holds us back but are definitely not the main reason. Sorry to disappoint people who like my posts if my today's post is not as funny and witty as usual, but I simply had to say it loudly because even people who admit everything is bad around us, refuse to identify the real reason why it's not better
PIR u're all talk, let me see you running an airline. R u 10?
DeleteAviation lengend Jasmin, love that guy has done a lot for Croatian economy and OU
Delete18.35
DeleteI am so sorry. I am not qualified to run OU. Because:
1. I have spine
2. I don't have Party booklet
But I am sure, once Jasmin passes away, as it is obvious he is remaining at his position for the life time, the next one running OU will be without spine, and with Party booklet
PIR you have such a healthy mentality. Love it. Very grateful that such people with critical thinking still exist or better say, we still hear. I enjoy reading each and every comment you post. Have a good weekend and enjoy the adriatic spring season. Saluti da Parigi
DeleteHe approaches the age for retirement it would be senseless to give him a contractual mandate exceeding that. Also the changes in the organisation (whatever these are) will be implemented by the end of that period. The course has been set long before he formally took over and it's irreversible because reversing it would require means to bridge the transition to whatever the new course would be. The biggest failures have been institutional wether we like to admit it or not; 1.unnecessary accession to the open sky BEFORE absolutely necessary (read-leveraging the bilateral regime to its maximum while possible)
Delete2. failure to strengthen the company before accession to the EU (read pouring money into fleet enlargement)
3. STAR accession in general especially in the full member format. You do remember that in the beginning CTN was a REGIONAL MEMBER. But that hurt the feeling of grandeur of a provincial boy who now sat at the table with the big sharks despite having a fleet of 7,5 real size airplanes. Etc etc...
Grazie JU520BEGLAX! Divertiti a Parigi!
DeleteBajic has been great at executing the status quo strategy for years, so he's the perfect choice to maintain that strategy going forward.

ReplyDeleteHe is bothered. 'Ladi se kahva a on se mora slikavat
DeleteDeserved
ReplyDeleteDeserved? Based on what? The lowest LF in Europe? 13 % market share? 30 destinations in entire network? Feeding LHG for peanuts? Not responding to market changes at all? Not using one single advantage of the biggest and most prosperous ex-yu air traffic market? Signing under the most disastrous and the most corruptive single type fleet deal with the most expensive and the most inappropriate type? 40 milions euro loss for last year? 100 millions overall during "deserved" carrier? Ah, sorry, now I understood: Deserved for faithful serving his Mafia Masters. In that case you are absolute right. It's thoroughly deserved.
Deleteabsolutely, autocorrect
DeleteThis analysis should be a part of their independent auditor’s report!
DeleteI think that PIR is delusional. Serbian market is lower market now, due problems from the past. I think that Serbia has the most potential as the biggest state. Jat was in Belgrade, not in Zagreb. BEG had more pax than Vienna in late 70's. Soon Serbia will have more pax than whole Croatia. No offense just facts. Jasmin doing the best he can. CRO market is over run by LCC companies. Almost every country around CRO lost national carriers, from Malev, Adria, Alitalia.. Croatia airlines, trust me, doing the best. As small country with very seasonal market. Analiticar trippin', that Croatia should have connections to Delhi, Japan, China, Usa,... That is all nonsense. Jasmin is genius and master of knowledge. Kahva is waiting for him every morning,
DeleteCroatia Airlines doing the best. Jasmin genius. And I am delusional??? LOL!!! LOL!!! LOL!!! 😂
DeleteCroatia had 15 mil pax in 2025, Serbia 9 mil. Only JAT headquarters were in Belgrade, it had more passengers combined in Croatia than in Belgrade even during Yugo times. You can't say "Serbia soon will have more pax, these are just facts". Those are not facts but your wet dreams, and hopes, and predictions only, with no single ground. The only reason why numbers in Croatia are not even bigger is disastrous flag carrier headed by the guy today's article is about. Croatia already has flights to USA, Canada and Korea by foreign carriers, which clearly shows who is delusional and who suffers from grandeur complex here, simultaneously trying to belittle others. Cheers!
DeleteI love this guy
