Turkey’s Tailwind Airlines registers company in Croatia

Turkish charter carrier Tailwind Airlines has established a Croatian entity. It was registered in Zagreb as a limited liability company in mid-March, with Kadri Abdul-Khalik Muhiddin appointed as its director. Mr Muhiddin, a British aviation entrepreneur, is the Chairman of the Board of Tailwind Airlines. Established in 2005 and commencing operations in 2009, the airline specialises in charter, ACMI (aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance) and wet-lease services for tour operators and other airlines. Tailwind primarily serves holiday destinations across Europe, Turkey and the Mediterranean region, transporting leisure travellers from key source markets such as Germany, the United Kingdom and Scandinavia to popular resort destinations. It operates a fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft.

    On a more serious note, this could be something like Dubrovnik Airline. They could fly around the coast in summer and then keep minimal flights in winter. This could literally kill off OU but also hurt easyJet which has higher costs.

      No, I don't mean Trade Air, they are into ACMI. I think Tailwind will focus on bringing tourists into Croatia. They already cooperate with tour operators which take them to Turkey, they will just expand their offer. Let's see where their primary focus will be on the coast. I don't think SPU because they don't have a lot of room, maybe DBV and ZAD.

      i dont think package tourists travel with OU at all. jet2 or easyjet holidays and likewise.

      Most German or French tour operators work with OU. Maybe even half of the seats are filled by tour operators. As for Tailwind, they lost a lot of their customers in Europe, they were eaten by the new Mavi Gok Airlines. Maybe this is the plan to stay on the horizon.

    Beside 2 x B738 they still fly 3 x B734 (in average more than 30 years old!).
