More projects for Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport
As part of the massive construction and upgrade project Ljubljana Jože Pučnik is to undergo during the summer months, it has been announced that the airport will also receive a completely new hanger for aircraft handling equipment. The contract for the construction of the new hanger has a value of 1.3 million Euros. GH Holding was selected as the contractor. Planning began this month and construction is expected to begin in the second half of the year. By the end of the year the airport will thus have gained just under 2000 square metres of covered space for equipment such as baggage transporters, cargo platforms, stairs, utilities vehicles, shuttle buses and other aircraft ground handling equipment. The new building will provide urgently needed space for the storage and protection of airport equipment. To date this has been stored in various locations around the airport. The building will be 78 metres long, 26 metres wide and 9 metres high. It will be situated between the existing road leading past the airport, the end of outdoor car park P2, and the main apron.

Ljubljana Airport is involved in several other projects such as a 2.6 million Euro construction of a parking lot that should be finished in November. A new travel terminal, T2, will be built at the place of the old parking. Due to airport upgrades several Adria flights will be rerouted to Maribor during the summer months.
