The overhaul of Niš Constantine the Great Airport in Southeastern Serbia is continuing to progress, with work on the exterior expected to be completed by the end of next month. The airport previously undertook roof work and expanded its check-in area. The project is being funded jointly by the Serbian government and local authorities and is valued at 210.000 euros. Niš Airport anticipates welcoming over 300.000 travellers in 2017. Swiss International Air Lines will launch flights from Zurich to Niš this Sunday, with Germania Flug to follow suit in June. The two join Wizz Air and Ryanair which already serve the airport.

I am really curious to see how the loads will be on LX's first few flights. I am surprised FR has not made any changes.

INI is really an incredible success story. Everyone was always saying, no chance for flights because of; poor region, old airport, who would fly ... bla bla bla. Turns out we were all wrong. Maybe in five years they reach 500,000 pax.

Now will AS ever launch BEG-INI flights, and flights from INI to a few Euro destinations?

Unfortunately the old mentality in certain ASL managers is still present, hence the reason for not considering Niš. Maybe it will change in near future and we will see them return

    Great story Nis.
I believe Ohrid in the future has similar capacity.
