NEWS FLASH

Iran's Qeshm Air will make scheduled technical stops in Belgrade as of this week, marking the first time in seven years that an Iranian carrier will require regular refuelling stops in the Serbian capital as tough new US-imposed sanctions begin to take effect and fuel providers refuse service to Iranian-registered airlines. Starting November 30, all Qeshm Air flights from Tehran to Brussels and Hamburg will refuel in Belgrade, both on the inbound and outbound sectors. The flights will be maintained until March 22, 2019, twice per week, each Friday and Saturday, with an Airbus A320 aircraft. Passengers will not disembark the aircraft during the technical stop. In 2010 and 2011, Iran Air frequently refuelled in both Belgrade and Ljubljana on its Europe-bound flights. Qeshm Air operated scheduled services to Belgrade this summer season.

Is this service payed by the airline or a free gesture of good will from Serbia?

The biggest disaster for Belgrade Airport to let the Iranian carriers go. Next summer Mahan Air already would have sent the Airbus A340-600 daily.

Mahan left deliberately, what on Earth could Belgrade Airport do ? Visa regime resumed = no passengers.
